Join us for an intimate morning tour with our Keepers as you get an exclusive glimpse into the lives of the amazing animals of the Savannah.

Follow one of our Keeping teams on their morning round where you will get to help out with food prep, watch a training session, and much more!

After some of the morning duties, you'll head out to set up the Lower Savannah, then enjoy a morning tea break to watch the animals start their day.

Life on the Savannah can be quite dynamic, so expect the unexpected in this exclusive small-group experience.

This experience must be pre-booked. We do not entertain same-day voucher redemption at the gate.
Zoo entrance ticket is not included (to buy separately); needs to be purchased before availing this experience.

Clean and well kept zoo and the animals look health and happy. The only issue I have is there are too little animals in comparison to people. Most exhibits only have 2 animals per cage, sometimes you can’t see them cause they’re resting. But at least the animals are not stressed. The ticket price is also quite expensive. There are lots of families having picnics in the area too. Overall, nice place to visit, but there are better places to get the animal viewing experience if that’s what you want.

One of the best zoos in Australia. Great family day out, lots to see which means a full day of fun. The butterflies section is a must visit.

Saw lots of great animals! Parking ticket for 5H but no elephants? I recommend coming early as school holidays makes parking all full.Although a great place to visit with family!

Plenty to do at Melbourne Zoo. We tried to get to every exhibit and it took us about 4 hours all up. Exhibits are great! Enjoyed the Meerkats, Giraffes and Gorilla Rainforest the best! Elephants were great as well but they are moving to Werribee soon into a much larger facility.

Visited 29/01 Always an easy way to entertain the kids. We get great value from our membership! The water sprayers dotted around the zoo were very appreciated on a hot day. Go soon if you want to see the teeny tiny meerkat pups 😍

All members and visitors must pre-book a ticket online. No tickets are available at the gate.
Tickets are available to book 30 days in advance. All visitors, including Zoo Members and babies, need to have a pre-booked zoo ticket before you arrive at the zoo.
Visitors aged 18 years or older must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to visit our zoos.
As directed by the Victorian Government, from 11.59 pm on 23 December 2021, everyone aged eight and above will be required to wear a fitted face mask indoors.
Children aged 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult at the zoo and hold a pre-booked ticket, even if it's a day that kids can visit for free.
Zoo Members, your tickets are free but will still need to be booked. You will need to present both your Zoo Membership card and your pre-booked zoo ticket at the gate.
Child tickets need to also be booked even though free.
With restrictions easing across the state, face masks are now only required in two areas: Melbourne Zoo & Werribee Open Range Zoo.
Zoos Victoria do not accept cash payments.
As required by the Victorian Government, all visitors will need to register to visit Melbourne Zoo, Werribee Open Range Zoo, and Healesville Sanctuary upon arrival for contact tracing purposes.
We have wheelchairs to hire at all three of our zoos. Prebooking can be requested.

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel your animal encounter the following cancellation applies:

- Seven days before the Encounter, a full refund or reschedule of booking is available.
- 24 hours before the Encounter, no refund is allowed, but we will reschedule your booking or move funds to a gift card for future use.

How to redeem

Your voucher(s) and booking information will be included in the confirmation email you will receive shortly after purchasing the experience on Amazed.com.

If the booking needs to be first confirmed by the host, you will receive your Amazed voucher within 24-48 hours of purchase.
