Get a chance to meet some of St Kilda’s famed feathered locals before enjoying Fish and Chips on the beach. This tour covers Port Melbourne, Albert Park and St Kilda and includes a scenic bike ride to ferry you from spot to spot.
It’s time to pack your day bag, hit the road with a small group and take the scenic drive down to Phillip Island. Get up close with the native wildlife (and yes, the penguins) and take in the ambience of this special spot, less than a two-hour drive from Melbourne. This experience includes a stop at Cape Woolamai, where you’ll lace up your boots and hike through the rugged rock formations known as the Pinnacles. Witness stunning views over the Bass Strait and look out for wallabies, echidnas, shearwater birds and whales in the winter months. You’ll then head to the Phillip Island Koala Reserve to see Australia’s favourite cuddly native animal. The tour draws to a close with a big finish: an up-close look at hundreds (sometimes thousands) of penguins as they emerge from the surf at sunset at the world-famous Penguin Parade. It’s an Aussie wildlife spectacular!
The good news is, the penguins at Phillip Island come out at sunset all year round, regardless of the weather or season. Nevertheless, Phillip Island has a temperate climate, with very cold winters and warm, mild summers. Therefore, we recommend choosing a warmer time of year to visit the Penguin Parade to avoid the cold winds or strong rain in the winter.
