Join us on this 3 hour tour through the Dolphin Sanctuary and Ships Graveyard.
We paddle down sheltered mangrove creeks that are the ultimate feeding and resting grounds for local dolphins. We kayak past spectacular shipwrecks that have been abandoned from a bygone era. The sanctuary is also home to abundant bird life and other creatures that make up the intricate eco system.
Participants don’t need any prior kayaking experience, and we travel at a comfortable pace, so there are plenty of opportunity for photos. Children must be 9 years and older the participate. Double kayaks are used for this tour unless uneven numbers.
What to Bring:
- Protection from the sun
- Mosquito Repellent
- Drink bottle & Snack
- Camera (waterproof is a safer option but we do provide a dry bag)
- Shoes that may get wet (optional)

3 weeks agoOur family of four thoroughly enjoyed our three-hour kayak tour. Alex was a knowledgeable and personable guide who made everything feel easy. The mangrove forest is magical, the shipwrecks are amazing and seeing dolphins in their natural environment was so exciting. The price is incredibly reasonable for the length and quality of the experience. Thanks for a great morning!

a week agoHad the absolute best day today with the three hour guided tour! Saw dolphins on a number of occasions, including a four month old baby. Alex, our wonderful guide, was incredibly kind and so knowledgeable about dolphins, the history of the mangroves and marine environment in general. Would definitely go again.

3 weeks agoMy sister and I did the dolphin kayaking tour. 10/10, had a great time. We saw a couple of dolphins and got super close to the abandoned shipwrecks. Our tour guide Mitchel was fantastic - very informative and knew a lot about the biology. He took our group in and out of a "creek" that we saw a dolphin come out of (apparently a rare thing!). Would definitely recommend if you have half a day in Adelaide.

a month agoA wonderful experience! The drive through a heavily industrial area doesn’t prepare you for the natural beauty of the waterways around Garden Island. Our tour guide Alex was helpful and knowledgeable, providing safety information and practical advice before getting into our kayaks. On the water we were lucky enough to see 4 dolphins right away and again later in the tour. A trip down a mangrove creek was another highlight and Alex provided interesting insights into the mangrove ecosystem. The kayak was easy to manage, the atmosphere was relaxed and it was a privilege to see this beautiful environment.

3 months agoAbsolutely brilliant afternoon with Alex, our guide, very knowledgeable and chatty. Happy to answer any questions and told us loads of interesting facts about the area and the sanctuary including the fact that it’s safe from crocs or sharks as they don’t even live in South Australia.. so that does make the kayaking even more appealing. We were blessed the dolphins were around and even joined us in the mangrove creek which is very unusual! Got some great footage and photos.. enough to make them jealous at home, which is half the point, right?!
