The Tully River is an integral part of clean, green energy production, thanks to the operations of the 88 MW Kareeya Hydro. They vary the water release time pending capacity, production and volume which means we vary our Tully rafting itinerary in line with them.

Depart for the scenic drive to Tully.

Rendezvous with other (self-drive) rafters at the Golden Gumboot (Tully), before we stop in Tully to grab a quick bite of lunch (optional, own cost).

Travel to the top of the Tully River Gorge and get fitted with rafting gear.

Meet your River Guide who will give you a safety briefing and paddling instructions before it’s time to hit the water!

Raft the world-renowned Tully River conquering awesome grade 3 & 4 rapids!

Arrive at the take-out point and change into dry clothes before the short journey to the Feluga Hotel, a traditional Queensland country pub and the Tully home of Raging Thunder.

Indulge in a hearty pub dinner with your guide and crew, view photos of your trip and compare river stories surrounded by a living history of epic rafting on the Tully River!

3 months agoI recently embarked on an unforgettable white-water rafting adventure with Raging Thunder, and it was an absolute thrill from start to finish! A massive shout-out to Ash, our awesome guide, who ensured a safe and enjoyable experience, expertly navigating us through exhilarating rapids on the Tully. Another shout-out to Tom or Harry (I can't recall his name) who was super enthusiastic and made the safety briefings fun. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fantastic day out!

2 weeks agoA brilliant day out from start to finish, all the guides were great fun and you can’t beat the scenery! The rafting is such great fun with stops along the river to jump off the rocks and take in the views! Definitely recommend to family’s as well! And a lovely meal to finish the day!

3 months agoMy friends and I had a spectacular time whitewater rafting down Tully rapids. It was a new experience for me and I was initially a bit nervous but that all went away as soon as we hit our first rapid. Our guide Paul was amazing and gave us all the confidence and skills we needed to face the rapids. The trip was a beautiful mix of adrenaline, breath taking views and a delightful time with wonderful people. Thank you Paul for your guidance ! I will definitely be back with friends to do this again! 😊✌️🤙

a month agoWhen I booked I didn’t rlly know what to expect, but this has been one of my favorite things I’ve done in all of Australia. The river was juicy our tour guide Paul was vibrant and full of energy which made the experience that much better, 10/10 experience would do again
