The original lagoon at Irukandji is now home to smaller sharks, rays and our huge 150kg smooth rays!
The Stingray Snorkel is for guests aged 12+, for snorkelling with heaps of rays in the deep lagoon! It includes interacting with the animals in the shallow water. Wetsuits, snorkel gear and wear & keep socks will be provided.
When you first arrive for your session you will need to get changed into the wetsuit provided, then we'll give you a pair of Irukandji souvenir socks to wear and keep, plus a snorkel mask to borrow. You will then be guided for 30 minutes with an experienced fishkeeper around the deep parts of the lagoon. The incredible sealife will swim past you as you move along the surface, watching them zoom around in their underwater home.
After your snorkel, you are free to spend time in the shallow water interacting with all the animals. You'll be given food and a feeding stick so they will come up to you seeking for food and attention. At all times you'll be guided by a friendly, knowledgable staff member who has lots of information to share with you.
It is suitable for beginners however participants must be able to swim without assistance.
Please arrive 20 minutes before your snorkel time to allow time to get changed into the wetsuits provided.
What to bring: Swimmers, towels hats, sunscreen reef friendly, cameras (underwater are permitted)
What not to bring: Non-reef-friendly sunscreen, your own wetsuit (as it could harbour marine-life from the ocean)

2 months agoToday we completed the shark experience, a really wonderful experience. Staff are friendly and very knowledgeable regarding all the sharks and stingrays. We definitely learnt some new facts about these animals. I would have marked them as 5 star's however dur to the curtains on the change cubicles no covering the gap. The rods were extremely high and the fabric was hard to slide across. Other then that I would recommend this for anyone visiting the area to look at doing.

3 months agoKnowledgeable and friendly staff, very helpful, amazing experience- can pay entrance fee and go ankledeep to feed or addwetsuitand sit down in the water (best for kids) or book an experience where you get to go into the deep part and go under the water with the animals. I did all the above and it was worth the money. Can easily spend half a day there. Climbing frame for children too. Will definitely be going back!

a month agoI came here for the first time ever as I’ve always like sharks and my mum like rays I live in Sydney and love the aquarium there and always wanted to swim in with the sharks but so expensive and saw they had shark and rays that have been rescued and to get in with them and leave so much I hadn’t even know. Was still the best top thing I’ve done here. Thank you guy you’s are amazing ! Keep doing what you’re doing ? (I’m also get a tattoo on Saturday here before I leave to commemorate this joy )

a month agocool place and definitely worth it for the experience. My son and daughter who aren't overly risk takers were patting the sharks and rays with the guidance of the lovely staff which says it all.

2 months agoWe had a fantastic day of learning and interacting with the sting rays, sharks and rays. They were all so beautiful and gentle. All the staff were wonderful and had so much knowledge and statistics to share. We had a chat with the owner on the way out and she shared even more information with us about a sustainable seafood app. Highly recommend visiting
