The Anvil Rock Trail follows a well-graded road along a ridgeline. This ride is a great off-road introduction for new riders – there are no major climbs, and the reasonably smooth dirt road makes for a fast, easy ride. Fantastic views of the Blue Mountains are on offer for most of the ride and on a clear day, the Sydney skyline is clearly visible.
This ride is another classic Blue Mountains "out and back” adventure, this ride follows Hat Hill Road out of Blackheath, eventually transforming into a gentle fire trail and flowing out to the lookouts. You won’t get lost on this ride, and can also expect to encounter some traffic, as the trail is also open to cars – these views are for everybody to enjoy!
We recommend our e-bikes for this one, as you really really really enjoy the uphill ride on the way back :-)

in the last weekMy dad and I did the hanging rock trail with the e-bikes and it was awesome! I would HIGHLY recommend booking with Blue Mountain Biking Adventures! It made getting to the lookout so much easier and was a very fun and enjoyable ride. Due to how much faster we were able to get to the lookout, we finished our ride at noon and still had half our day to explore. Sam was also incredible! He was super helpful and made sure we had everything we needed while on our ride. After our ride, he even drove us to the start of a hiking trail he recommended on the other side of town! Overall, we had an absolutely remarkable day thanks to Sam and Blue Mountain Biking Adventures!

4 months agoFrom the very first contact, Sam, from Blue Mountains Biking Adventures, was excellent. I cannot speak highly enough about the service he provided. He provided us with very wise counsel with regards to using electric bikes for the particular ride that we had chosen. We have always enjoyed using mountain bikes and had been resistant to using ebikes, but once we hit the first hill, we knew that the ride was going to be amazing with that extra power. I am 65 and my husband is 74 and we managed the 40 km trail with no problem. We stayed true to our ideals and only used the power when it was necessary. The bikes were in very good condition, and Sam provided all the extras we needed to repair tires and to take care of other minor needs. The day went well and the bike return went smoothly. I would highly recommend this company. Biking is such a great way to see the beauties of the Blue Hills, and Sam, he is simply amazing, and he made our trip an extraordinary one!!

3 months agoHolidaying in Sydney I had limited time to visit the Blue Mountains but I did not want to miss out. Sam the owner of Blue Mountains Biking Adventures suggested participing in a the Hanging Rock trail. I caught the train from Sydney to Blackheath a really easy journey which gave a real insight into the landscapes out side of Sydney. Sam was waiting at the prearranged location with Trek bikes and associated safety equipment. He delivered a comprehensive brief regarding safety and route details. Thereafter we commenced the ride. Loan Rock trail was breath taking and really allowed me to appreciate the spectacle of the Blue Mountains . I am so glad I committed to the adventure 10 hours out and back to Sydney!

11 months agoWow! What an awesome experience! We were lucky enough to experience The Hanging Rock trail in perfect conditions! Having visited The Blue Mountains many times, we had no idea the stunning scenery that this ride would provide us, absolutely stunning and hard to explain without experiencing it yourself. Sam was so passionate, knowledgeable and accommodating! As beginner's we felt well informed and ready for the challenge thanks to Sam's insight. The E-Bikes were modern and very well maintained, my family and I would highly recommend Sam and Blue Mountain Biking Adventures! The whole experience was world class. We can't wait to tackle another track in the near future! Thanks again Sam!
