This bike tour gets you the best lookout in the mountains. No gates or fences! Great for Beginner and up and a hit with couples and families.
With scenic valley views across the Grose Valley and crisp mountain air, this ride follows a rough fire trail along the ridgeline to the spectacular Baltzers Lookout at Hanging Rock. Unlike other lookouts in the mountains, there is no safety fence here to separate you from one particularly large drop!
This is your typical "out and back” Blue Mountains ride – the easy navigation and the short distance make it an ideal ride for less experienced cyclists looking to clock up some time on the dirt and get closer to nature.
That’s not to say more experienced cyclists won’t enjoy it…the flowing trails will bring a smile to any rider’s dial, and there are also plenty of water bars to let you get some air time.

3 months agoFrom the very first contact, Sam, from Blue Mountains Biking Adventures, was excellent. I cannot speak highly enough about the service he provided. He provided us with very wise counsel with regards to using electric bikes for the particular ride that we had chosen. We have always enjoyed using mountain bikes and had been resistant to using ebikes, but once we hit the first hill, we knew that the ride was going to be amazing with that extra power. I am 65 and my husband is 74 and we managed the 40 km trail with no problem. We stayed true to our ideals and only used the power when it was necessary. The bikes were in very good condition, and Sam provided all the extras we needed to repair tires and to take care of other minor needs. The day went well and the bike return went smoothly. I would highly recommend this company. Biking is such a great way to see the beauties of the Blue Hills, and Sam, he is simply amazing, and he made our trip an extraordinary one!!

2 months agoHolidaying in Sydney I had limited time to visit the Blue Mountains but I did not want to miss out. Sam the owner of Blue Mountains Biking Adventures suggested participing in a the Hanging Rock trail. I caught the train from Sydney to Blackheath a really easy journey which gave a real insight into the landscapes out side of Sydney. Sam was waiting at the prearranged location with Trek bikes and associated safety equipment. He delivered a comprehensive brief regarding safety and route details. Thereafter we commenced the ride. Loan Rock trail was breath taking and really allowed me to appreciate the spectacle of the Blue Mountains . I am so glad I committed to the adventure 10 hours out and back to Sydney!

10 months agoWow! What an awesome experience! We were lucky enough to experience The Hanging Rock trail in perfect conditions! Having visited The Blue Mountains many times, we had no idea the stunning scenery that this ride would provide us, absolutely stunning and hard to explain without experiencing it yourself. Sam was so passionate, knowledgeable and accommodating! As beginner's we felt well informed and ready for the challenge thanks to Sam's insight. The E-Bikes were modern and very well maintained, my family and I would highly recommend Sam and Blue Mountain Biking Adventures! The whole experience was world class. We can't wait to tackle another track in the near future! Thanks again Sam!

6 months agoWe hired 2 e-bikes from Sam at Blue Mountains Biking Adventures. From start to finish we had the best experience. We found it best to text Sam (number is on their web site) and he got back to us with in a few hours and our hire was sorted within minutes. We only had the option to hire the bikes for the day and in the end it was the perfect amount of time we needed to really appreciate it. We met Sam in Katoomba where we were given a good briefing on trails including maps and the e-bikes. We went by train with our bikes from Katoomba to Blackheath. Right or wrong we used the lift (we saw the locals doing it) rather than using the stairs at the train station. We rode from Blackheath to Anvil Rock and back to Blackheath aprox 16km's then from Blackheath to Hanging rock and back to Blackheath aprox 15km's. The trails are wide very well maintained easy to ride and the views were spectacular. At Hanging Rock we pushed our bikes up the last small gnarly part of the track to the top where we locked up our bikes and walked the last part down to Floating Rock then on to Hanging Rock. Yes it is a bit steep and a bit of a climb back up to the bikes but it is so worth it. We spent a bit of time here as the view are breathtaking. Back at Blackheath we caught the train back to Katoomba where Sam had sorted a drop off for the bikes which made dropping them off so easy. Sam's bikes are great you'll have plenty of battery life. We didn't use much on the rides to the rocks as a lot is down hill. You will want to use it on the way out. We had plenty of battery life left. These rides are perfect for people that love bike trails and awesome destinations. Thanks Sam we will be back again to check out some of the other rides in the Blue Mountains.

6 months agoHired a few e-bikes from Sam who runs this business - Highly recommend to all. Sam was super clear in the lead up to the event and in the instructions he provided prior and on the day. We cycled to Hanging Rock which was super easy on the ebike in today's conditions. The bikes seemed very well maintained and we had a great day, next time I would book for longer
