This one-day tour takes place in the NSW Riverina, the birthplace of Australia's commercial rice industry.
We highlight the role of rice in the national and international economy. You can see rice growing in paddies, discuss farming and related matters with an actual rice farmer, see irrigation water management systems in operation and learn more about an essential food item consumed daily by more than half the world's population.
Meals, accommodation and transport are covered in the quoted fee, at your request.
Tours may visit operational farms, factories and other industrial sites only.
Safety inductions may be required at some sites. Protective or safety clothing may be provided and required to be worn at some sites. Some sites may require us to obtain from all members of your group (including drivers, guides and interpreters) evidence of full COVID vaccination protection.
Clean, sturdy, fully enclosed footwear is required at all times.
People with dust or pollen allergies should take their normal precautions.
Some visits may involve walking over rough ground or up and down industrial staircases.
If operational, weather, road, biosecurity or any other conditions make it impossible or inadvisable to visit a particular farm, factory or any other site on an occasion, an alternative arrangement will be negotiated with your tour representatives.
Your voucher(s) and booking information will be included in the confirmation email you will receive shortly after purchasing the experience on Amazed.com.
If the booking needs to be first confirmed by the host, you will receive your Amazed voucher within 24-48 hours of purchase.

3 years agoWent on a tour with Jonty and it was a delightful experience in Wagga Wagga. Jonty is a wealth of knowledge and was the perfect tour guide. The tour was personalised to the types of farms that we liked and was full of character. Talking to people working on the land is a very different perspective and I would highly recommend anyone interested in agriculture to do this!
