Allow an hour to see the penguin feeding and if you have more time then you can enjoy swimming, snorkelling, exploring the nature trails or just relax and enjoy the beautiful nature reserve.

Blessed with white sandy beaches and surrounded by crystal clear waters, Penguin Island is just 30 minutes south of Perth and lies a five-minute ferry ride away in the heart of the ruggedly spectacular Shoalwater Islands Marine Park.

There is free street parking on Harrison Street, Florence Street and Parkin Street.

Please note all pricing includes a $10 Marine Park Levy.
Penguin Island will be closed on days that are greater than 35 degrees, as per The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions.
Ferries depart from Shoalwater hourly from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM. Please note check-in is 30 minutes prior to your ferry departure.
Return ferries depart Penguin Island at 10 minutes past the hour, every hour from 10:10 AM to 03:10 PM with the final ferry departing at 04:00 PM sharp. Return ferries do not need to be booked in advance, simply wait at the jetty for the next available departure
Extra departures and returns are scheduled every 20 to 30 minutes on busy days if required

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made in writing (email, fax or post) and received by Perth Wildlife Encounters before the time constraints detailed below. We reserve the right to charge the following fees:

Bookings of 3 or less passengers
Cancellations or amendments within 48 hours of cruise departure time are charged 50% of cruise cost.
Cancellations or amendments within 24 hours of cruise departure time or failure to attend are charged 100% of cruise cost.
Bookings of 4 or more passengers
Cancellations or amendments within 7 days of cruise departure time are charged 50% of cruise cost.
Cancellations or amendments within 48 hours of cruise departure time or failure to attend are charged 100% of cruise cost.

It is the responsibility of the person making the booking to ensure their group are aware of all conditions and cancellations policies.
