  • Overview

The historic Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse is situated at the most south-westerly point of Australia, the tip of a spectacular peninsula where the Southern and Indian Oceans meet. As the tallest lighthouse on mainland Australia, Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse is a must-see attraction.

Visitors take a trip through maritime history and learn how this famous landmark was constructed from local limestone in 1895 and still functions as a vital working lighthouse for vessels navigating the treacherous cape. The guided tour takes visitors to the top of the tower, where a vast seascape of crashing waves and wild rocky shoreline unfolds.

An Interpretive Centre, housed within one of the original lighthouse keepers' cottages, is an outstanding interactive experience that celebrates the history and lives of the numerous lighthouse keepers who were custodians of this rugged coastline. Between May and September, whales are often seen from the tower as they migrate along the coastline.

    • We require a minimum of 2 adults (17+) to run a tour.
    • Children under 4 years old are NOT PERMITTED to climb the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse
    • The Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse tower does have a minimum age requirement. Children must be four years of age to be able to join the tour, and they must climb up by themselves; they can’t be carried up the steps inside the tower.
    • Since there are quite a few steps involved in most of the tours, comfortable enclosed shoes are recommended, however you can still do the tours in thongs/flip flops/jandals if you feel you are able to.
    • Do bring a camera and water if you need; but no other drinks, and no food.
    • Depending on the weather; sunscreen, a hat and/or wet weather gear may be required. A jacket is sometimes required at the lighthouses, even in the summer months, as the wind at the Capes can be quite ‘invigorating’!
    • A full refund will be provided for cancellations received by close of business (05:00 PM WST) on the day prior to the tour booking.
    • In the event of ‘no shows’, or cancellations later than close of business (05:00 PM WST) on the day prior to the booking, we may charge the full cost of the booked tour(s).
  • Your voucher(s) and booking information will be included in the confirmation email you will receive shortly after purchasing the experience on Amazed.com.

If the booking needs to be first confirmed by the host, you will receive your Amazed voucher within 24-48 hours of purchase.
