This fun and informative experience includes one hour of catch and release Barra fishing with all equipment, tackle, bait and tuition, plus a small group, guided tour behind the scenes of the farm accompanied by a Daintree Saltwater Barramundi Tasting Plate.

Everything you need for catch and release barramundi fishing is provided and included in the tour price.
It includes a meet and greet and walking tour around the various ponds and locations on the Daintree Saltwater Barramundi Farm. As a part of the tour, you get to feed some of the barramundi in our ponds, where you’ll see them race, jump and fight for food. It gives you a first-hand view of the energy and enthusiasm of the iconic Barramundi.
Next step is some catch and release fishing, to check the weight and health of the fish.

Absolutely the best fishing experience, the tour with Michael was worth it. Learnt lots of new things. The fishing was so fun! The fish was so strong which is the best feeling when you pull out the fish. The staff members were so kind and helpful, thank you.

What an amazing experience! We had the best time, absolutely worthwhile! The team at hook-a-Barra were sensational - we were looked after by Amos who really made our time there great, he took the time to explain everything to us and even hooked a fish and gave the rod to me when it looked like I wasn’t going to catch anything! I’m sure the rest of the team are just as wonderful as Amos is. Great experience, absolutely recommend!!

Fishing is the reel deal
It is recommended you wear a hat and long-sleeved sun shirt, with appropriate sun protection. Comfortable walking shoes are also recommended.
There is the option to take your catch home, but this is charged above and beyond the tour price. We charge $17.50 per kilo and can provide ice and eskis to take your fish home. Ask us about some delicious fresh fillets and recipe cards.
There is a viewing tank, where you can see some of our rare Speckled (Panda), Albino and Golden Barramundi – as a part of your tour, our crew will demonstrate their feeding techniques here.

Cancellation Policy

If your cancellation is at least 24 hours in advance of your fishing session or tour, you will receive a full refund.
If your cancellation is less than 24 hours in advance, you will receive a gift card to attend a future session.
