Welcome to our Level 1 Freediving Course, where you'll learn how to unlock your potential to dive deeper and longer underwater. This course is designed for beginners, who are looking to learn the fundamental skills and knowledge to start their freediving journey.
Our experienced instructors will guide you through theory sessions, covering essential breathing techniques for freediving, relaxation, physiology, and safety procedures. You'll learn how to breathe more efficiently, allowing you to stay calm and relaxed underwater. We'll teach you the dry breath-hold technique to improve your breath-holding ability, and how to recover safely after a dive.
During the in-water sessions, we'll focus on dynamic apnea (horizontal underwater swimming) and depth progression, where you'll learn about the proper technique, adequate finning, body positioning, and streamlining. Our instructors will provide hands-on training, ensuring you progress at your own pace, building your confidence and comfort level with each dive.
On day two, we'll head out into the open water at Lake Eacham in the Atherton Tablelands. You'll practice pull-downs and duck dives, learning about equalizing techniques and how to conserve energy efficiently while diving. You'll see how far you can push yourself before earning your Level 1 Freediving certification.
If the minimum numbers for an activity have not been met or conditions are not suitable and Scubabo Dive decides to cancel, you will be entitled to a credit or full refund.

a month agoSara was the most incredible photographer for my 2 day trip on the reef and captured stunning pictures of my dives with fantastic angles and was super helpful transferring the pictures she took and the pictures I took on the GoPro I rented to my phone using a usc memory stick to preserve the quality.

If you’re looking to get some truly epic, professional photos of your trip, definitely book to see the reef with one of the boats with Scubabo photographers! (Reef Encounter or Reef Experience) Kozel took incredible photos of our group and the reef, and edited them and we had them on our iPhones before departing the boat!

2 weeks agoGreat Course, Shiv was an excellent teacher, patient and kind. He really celebrated your wins however small and was super knowledgeable. Morning stretch was not included/run through but all other course inclusions for Level 1 was met. Great location and beautiful drive. Flexible with pick up and drop off. Overall well run and I got a lot out of it.
