About
Mountainside Wines is a family owned and operated vineyard and winery which is situated at the base of Mount Cole at the south eastern end of the Grampians wine region. We produce premium wines from vineyards that are hand tended and hand-picked. This allows us to focus on quality and consistency of flavour. All our wines are made using grapes from a single vineyard and showcase the best of our terroir. Here at Mountainside Wines we have warm days, cool nights, and a long growing season. We also have unique soil conditions of granite loam over red clay allowing the flavours of Shiraz to shine in the wine. This means that the wines produced in our little corner of the Grampians are rich and full of flavour and aroma and represent a unique picture of the area. The property itself has been growing grapes and making wine since 1998 with just under seven acres of Shiraz vines, two and one-half acres of Viognier vines, and one acre of Nebbiolo vines. The vines produce approximately 1000 cases per year and we focus on making premium wines.

3 years agoStaying at The Blue House gave us everything we expected in a relaxing country getaway. From the rolling hills at your doorstep to the serenity of being away from traffic and crowds. All topped off with a hearty home-cooked dinner which was amazing. Close enough to the Grampians and Ararat for a day trip to both of those places. And don't worry about the fact that there's no TV, because you won't need one when you have millions of stars to enjoy at night.

2 years agoJane and Shane were awesome hosts. Close to Ararat for a day trip as well as wineries in the vircinity. The accomodation was comfortable, beautiful views of the vineyards and mountains in the back ground. Enjoyed the lack of technolgy which allowed for more time outdoors.

6 years agoJane & Shane were so warm, friendly and informative about the wine making process when we visited late 2017. During a very generous wine tasting (they even let us taste the grapes!) I discovered a new fave, Nebbiolo. Have already finished our purchases and ordered more online direct from Mountainside Wines website. Thank you, hoping to return soon.

6 years agowe had an overnight stay in early Jan this year,fantastic place, lovely people.Hoping to come back next weekend and enjoy it all over again. A hidden gem.
