We are the only pearl farm in New South Wales and look forward to sharing our insights through our offering of farm experiences. Established in 2003, we are NSW’s only pearl farm. After nearly two decades of culturing pearls on NSW’s Central Coast, we offer extraordinary pearling experiences and invite you to immerse yourself in this truly remarkable story. In 2017, after a decade of successfully growing Akoya pearl oysters quietly on the Central Coast, Broken Bay Pearl Farm founders Ian and Rose Crisp began an exciting partnership with James Brown (pictured right) and his team from the Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm (Broome, Western Australia). From this, Pearls of Australia was born. Pearls of Australia now stand at the forefront of an extremely small group of dedicated pearl farmers, marine biologists and scientific researchers that are beginning to bridge the gap between the pearl shell depletion of the past and the sustainable pearl cultivation of the future. Spanning operations from the East Coast of New South Wales to the far north western tip of the Kimberley Coastline in Western Australia, our farmers work side by side as they invest in cutting edge technologies, innovation and sustainable marine practices, while also creating a new awareness towards this ever-evolving Australian story. Today we’re one step closer towards our vision of a world in which both farmers and retailers work together to ensure a future that sees pearls, people and planet living in harmony.

2 months agoI recently had the pleasure of visiting Broken Bay Pearl Farm, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. The tour provided fascinating insights into pearl farming, and the oyster tasting was simply delightful. The staff were not only knowledgeable but also incredibly friendly, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. Safety was clearly a priority, as the boat for the tour was steady and ensured a comfortable journey. Overall, I highly recommend Broken Bay Pearl Farm for anyone looking for a unique and enriching adventure.

5 months agoMy husband and I were celebrating our 30th Wedding anniversary and went to Broken Bay Pearl Farm. We learnt so much about pearl farming, we got to taste some delicious oysters and a grazing platter for lunch with amazing views. We finished of our day with a bit of shopping for pearls.

8 months agoWhat a great day at Broken Bay Oyster Farm! The access is very convenient and this is a great spot to visit if you're heading up the coast or on its own. Myself and 2 colleagues did a Pearl Discovery Tour which was fantastic! It consisted of an introduction to history of pearl farming in Australia with some fascinating insights around type of oysters that are used for production. Jack, who conducted this part of the tour was super knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. We were then taken to the Oyster farm by boat, the ride was spectacular as you go through scenic waters of Hawkesberry River. Our skipper/guide Chris was amazing, he told us all about the process of farming from growing oysters, seeding them and harvesting pearls. We were then taken back to the Shellar Door for a grading station and learn about 5 qualities of pearls that their value depend on. Cannot recommend Broken Bay Pearl Farm Tours enough! Everyone was very welcoming, passionate about the job and making sure you have a great day.

9 months agoHad an amazing day learning about oysters, clams, pearls & the history of the area. We were lucky enough to have a tour to ourselves & our guide John was warm, entertaining & thoughtful. After our boat trip, we sampled freshly shucked Pacific & Sydney Rock oysters which tasted like nothing I’ve ever had before, creamy & fresh! Jack kindly answered my many questions & was super knowledgeable. Well worth a visit for a unique romantic experience or entertainment for the whole family.

12 months agoWent on the Pearlers Private Lunch Cruise with my family this afternoon and it was such an amazing experience! Kate and Marina were very friendly and experienced and we all learnt about pearl farming and the history of the area while enjoying the sumptuous lunch and the scenic view! Also bought a lovely pair of pearl earrings home
