Join our fun and organic dot painting workshop that runs twice daily. You will be taught by a local Anangu artist (and an assisting interpreter). You’ll learn about traditional art, symbols, tools and more! Get inspired by the ancient ways of the desert and create your very own work of art to treasure.
For thousands of years, Anangu have passed down their knowledge generation to generation, to keep the land, their culture and their people strong.
Through our workshops our artists would like to share a part of their culture with you, so you can learn something, create something and show your family.
The course does not enable you to do dotpainting on a professional level, but is an experience to understand Aboriginal paintings and culture better.
Your voucher(s) and booking information will be included in the confirmation email you will receive shortly after purchasing the experience on Amazed.com.
If the booking needs to be first confirmed by the host, you will receive your Amazed voucher within 24-48 hours of purchase.

10 months agoMy sister-in-law and me were blessed to experience this workshop on 15th March 2023. The guide and artist (Verne) were fabulous. I'd met Vern the evening before, and had bought a painting of 'The Three Sisters'. At the workshop she painted a beautiful 'Seven Sisters' artwork which I also bought. How could I not? I'd spent some of the time sitting alongside her, watching her and chatting. We loved learning more about some of the symbols and signs involved in Aboriginal art, using sand to demonstrate. Once we'd all had a go at painting ourselves (mine wasn't great sadly, but Jenny's was amazing!), we then told our stories that the painting symbolised. Worth every cent. I'd highly recommend this to anyone visiting Yulara/Uluru.

5 years agoFantastic cultural experience with locals. We have two young boys who also got a lot out of the experience. Wonderful to learn what the symbols on desert paintings mean. Makes you appreciate aboriginal art in a whole new light. Highly recommend.

a year agoThis was a wonderful experience, learning and understanding about dot painting and Aboriginal culture and about this method as a way of story telling, then getting to apply our knowledge to our very own painting. It felt very calming and therapeutic as an activity, and it was lovely being able to see a local artist at work in front of us, and be able to ask them questions too. Great activity for adults and children alike, and very reasonably priced too.

a year agoThis experience was EXCELLENT. We booked it for 2 adults & 2 children (10 & 8) and we all loved it. The lady running it was very informative and the artist on the day was just beautiful. Her artwork was stunning and we enjoyed listening to her speak. If you are reading these reviews to try and decide whether or not to do this tour, you absolutely should. A BIG highlight of our trip.

a year agoWe had a great time and experience with host Kane and artist Brenda. They took us through a creation story of the Seven Sisters. We then had a chance to do our own dot painting after they explained the basic symbols and concepts of the Anangu art. Brenda of course put us all to shame in producing her own art in the same time. And we had a chance at the end to explain the story behind each of our art. Overall an awesome experience.
