a year agoI've been lucky to be taught by Simon for a number of years now. My playing has improved significantly under Simon's guidance and personalised tuition. It's rare to find a teacher with monster chops and teaching ability like Simon. Simon's lessons are engaging and he has a special knack for making complex theory and playing techniques accessible. Simon is patient, positive and is genuinely invested in his students' success. Through Simon's guidance and encouragement I have found shortcuts to success in my playing, remediated bad habits, developed confidence in live settings and developed positive momentum for progression through regular lessons. I highly recommend Simon's guitar lessons for all levels. Thanks Simon!

a year agoSimon is a skilled and patient teacher who makes all stages of learning guitar fun and rewarding. Lessons with Simon usually involve a combination of theory and song learning, so that there is a more immediate value to learning the essentials of the former. It's fun seeing great songs deconstructed and learning what building blocks go into them, so that as a player you can attempt to write a few of your own! I saw Simon nearly all the way through my teens and in retrospect I am in admiration of his patience with me as I was a pretty easily distracted kid. There were times early on where finding motivation to pick up the guitar was challenging but with Simon's support we kept moving forward and slowly expanding my skill base. I now find great value in regularly gigging/recording with my band, which is something that could never have happened without Simon's guidance. Guitar has been right at the centre of my life for nearly 10 years now and I am extremely thankful to have had such phenomenal guidance so early on. 5 stars!

3 years agoI’ve been a student of Simon’s for some time now, and my playing has massively improved. Simon’s guitar lessons are great fun, I’ve learnt songs and concepts from every genre, style, and era. His energy and passion for music and the guitar is really contagious, and has helped cement the guitar as a lifelong passion of my own! Thanks for the awesome lessons Simon!

4 years agoSimon is a lord. Think of everything you want from a great teacher and he is all of those things. A highly skilled working musician who practises what he preaches. Endlessly patient and encouraging. With his encyclopaedic knowledge of contemporary (and sometimes not so contemporary!) music, he focuses on teaching you the songs and styles you want to learn as well as the skills to play them. He infuses every lesson with great stories, fun and enthusiasm. I genuinely look forward to each session. And how many teachers can you say that about? An unreserved 5 stars

4 years agoSimon has been my teacher for more than a few years now. The lessons are always lots of fun and I continue to learn and improve every week. I started to play guitar in my late 40's and at times its been a challenge. I don't think I could have made the process I have without good teacher - and Simon has been fantastic (thanks so much). If you are considering taking lessons with Simon - my advice is just do it!
