The Hunter Valley is home to some of the oldest vineyards in the world. Our Sacred Sites wines are made only from dry-grown vines that are more than 100 years old and on their own roots. The origins of most of these vines lie in the Busby Collection - cuttings brought to Australia from Europe by James Busby and planted in the Hunter Valley in 1832.
These sacred sites are some of the most distinguished pockets of vineyard land in Australia, having survived the test of time and consistently making exceptional wines that have their own distinct character and unique qualities. In 2004, Tyrrell's decided to bottle these wines on their own and today they're among the rarest in the wine world, often available only on allocation. Among these wines is our Old Patch Shiraz, which has been awarded a perfect 100-point score for the last four consecutive releases by influential wine journalist James Suckling.
The Sacred Sites Experience is one of the most unique winery experiences available, and the only time the Sacred Sites wine collection is available for tasting. Over 3 hours you will enjoy a private and personalised tour of our Sacred Sites vineyards, located on the Ashmans property, followed by an in depth winery tour and barrel tasting. Finish the afternoon with a tutored tasting of the Sacred Sites collection, accompanied by a charcuterie board with locally sourced fresh produce.
Your voucher(s) and booking information will be included in the confirmation email you will receive shortly after purchasing the experience on Amazed.com.
If the booking needs to be first confirmed by the host, you will receive your Amazed voucher within 24-48 hours of purchase.

2 weeks agoThe first winery we visited in Australia and we have a very good impression with the place. We were here on a weekday and did make a reservation for the tasting and we were glad we did. The tasting went so well and lasted longer than one hour for our group. We ended up tasting almost 15 labels! I personally like several of them and bought back more than a dozen! Thanks the tasting conductor! We did ask his name but I forgot..could be Scott!

2 weeks agoOver 160-plus years, Tyrrell's has been a constant vineyard in the Hunter Valley. We found this cellar door was the best for experiencing a much wider range of wines and in the end tried 18 different varieties. The staff were knowledgeable and gave us a good description of each wine we tried. Great value for money. Ended up buying two of the sweeter wines and a port.

a week agoGreat selection of wines. Attendants are very friendly and entertaining. Their enthusiasm is great. They believe in their product. They offer a great amount of wine just to try. Their fortified wine is great. If they had some cheese to accompany, it’d be even better.

3 weeks agoExceptional service and advice from Richard, once again. Great to see one of the Hunter's premium wineries with such a strong customer focus. Fantastic wines available, and presented without any rush or pressure. Well worth a visit.
