Our Dolphin Cruises have now ended but our resident pods of Dolphins are spotted all year round so hop aboard our WHALE WATCHING CRUISE from May to October to witness these playful supporting actors to the Humpback Whales!
The Ballina & Byron Bay coast plays host to resident pods of bottle nose dolphins all year round. They number between 80 and 120, depending on the time of year, but they always provide our passengers of all ages a thrill, an experience to remember; something that always brings a smile to everyone’s face.
Bottlenose Dolphins are spotted in their natural habitat as they play and swim along the coastline between Ballina and Byron Bay on our incredible Dolphin Cruise. We depart from Ballina’s Richmond River and enter the pristine waters of Cape Byron Marine Park. Our friendly Marine Biologist will share in-depth knowledge of the area & marine creature encounters we experience within Byron’s Marine Park. Learn about our local pods of dolphins, their habits and behaviours. We are so sure you’ll spot a dolphin that we offer a free return trip if you don’t see one on your first Dolphin Cruise!

2 weeks agoFantastic experience. I’ve been snorkelling a few times with Out of the Blue & recommend it to everyone travelling to Byron. I’ve been out with Gabby, Gian & Angus they always look after everyone on board & go out of their way to make sure all guests have a great time. The marine biologist hops in the water with you & points out different marine life & information as you go.

in the last weekA well organised trip with experienced and friendly staff, safety covered off well, modern fit for purpose equipment. Perhaps my expectations were unreasonable but the visibility wasn’t great. We did see the big three of the Rocks - turtle, leopard shark, ray. Just one of each. Plenty of other smaller colourful fish. It was overcast and there was a swell which maybe contributed to the visibility. Crossing the bar on the way out was perhaps the most exciting part. We also saw dolphins on the way which was an added bonus. Overall it was good, and maybe really good on a different day. I couldn’t recommend it as a must do based on our particular day, and comparing it to other snorkelling experiences I have had (both good and bad)

2 weeks agoWent snorkeling with 'Out of the Blue Adventures' twice and what can I say. It was absolutely incredible. We saw two species of turtles, Leopard Sharks, White spotted eagle Rays, different kind of fish. If you are in Byron, definitely make sure you go snorkeling with them!!!! A big thanks goes to Gab and the crew! All of them are super friendly, kind and they make sure you have a fabulous time out there. I will definitely go again.

a month agoMy family and I had the best experience with Out of the Blue Adventures! The staff were awesome (Angus, Gabby and Emily) and they went out of their way to make sure we had the best weather conditions and underwater experience. We snorkelled with Leopard Sharks, Eagle Rays, Turtles and lots of fish. I highly recommend visiting the spectacular Julian Rocks with this awesome company and crew. We will be back for another visit as soon as we can.
