Soul Surf School has been operating for 10 years in the Byron Bay and Ballina Shires. We are made up of a group of super passionate local and international surfers that are all accredited with Surfing Australia as Level 1 & 2 Surf Coaches, as well as Australia professional beach life guards, Trained in Senior First / advanced resuscitation Training and working with Children Checks. Our team of instructors are career surf guides with a minimum of 10 years coaching background and 15 years personal surfing experience both in Australia and overseas. We are the only Byron Bay surf school to have surf school permits to teach personal private lessons & group lessons in both Byron Bay & Lennox head. We are dedicated to finding the best, most fun and safest waves daily and we have over 10 different locations at our fingertips, ready for the ultimate learn to surf experience. a month agoI had a fantastic half day group surf lesson with this crew. It was a terrific way to meet some new people and have a blast. We took their bus to a quiet beach last Lennon head, saw some dolphins and surfed almost constantly for over two hours. The trip there and back was about 20 minutes each way, and we rinsed in a lake at the end.

a week agoReally good experience. I wasn't sure I'd enjoy surfing, but my first lesson was great! Jonny noticed I was having difficulty controlling the board and making errors, so he invited me over and gave me some constructive feedback, which improved my technique massively and allowed me to progress. We also went for a post-surf dip in a tea tree lake. Thank you Soul Surf!

a month agoI booked a half day, very friendly staff! We were split up into smaller groups so we could get more personal feedback and more wave time. I was in Clems group and he was amazing, super positive and enthusiastic and very attentive! Being a first time surfer I’m very happy with the outcome of my lesson. Thank you Clem and Soul staff!

5 months agoIt was our very first time surfing and we ended up with a private lesson with surf teacher Alex. We had such an amazing time and loved how he easily explained the theory and had so many great and personal advices in the water. At the end we reached our goal of catching and surfing the first waves and felt so good and happy. It was definitely worth the money and we recommend the soul surf school to everyone. We loved that Alex also gave us ideas of things to do around Byron and also about our upcoming time in Indonesia. Next time in Byron we will for sure come back! Thank you so much!!! :)

3 months agoSuper cool vibes, amazing team and surfing. Had a private lesson with Angel, who is very patient and fun. The lessons were well instructed and professional. Thanks to the lessons, I catch my first green wave! I would highly recommend anyone to book with Soul Surf School and Angel!
