Wow this place has it all! Hire a golf buggy to take in the stunning mountains views and lush meandering gardens. Stop at the animal farm to be greeted by baby goats, sheep and donkeys. Have fresh scones and coffee at the cafe. And finally do an Avery tour and meet exotic birds that get up close to greet you. Great value and great experience.

Honestly quite let down by this experience. Perhaps the bird sanctuary is what all the fuss is about. Having two very small children and the eldest being easily startled and scared we avoided the bird experience (not to mention the cost). We went and fed the farm animals and that was enjoyable. However the gardens themselves let us down. We found it underwhelming, poorly maintained and not very pram/stroller friendly. There was a variety of different paths and is possible to just stay on the paved path however you then will miss some gardens. Loose small peddles made it impossible to push the pram and then there was very wet muddy/ grassy sections. There seemed to be very scarce order to plants in my opinion with some vague genres scattered around. Some lawn areas seemed to be forgotten, over run by weeds and not manicured. For a place that prides themselves in gardening, this was not evident. We were thoroughly disappointed in the cost paid to enter. For the experience we found it over priced. The things we enjoyed were the view and the Devonshire tea (great value). Two very large fresh scones with jam and cream + drink. When I ordered my coffee, for some reason it was out through as a mug and charged an extra $1.

This is a gem of a place. The bird aviary is a great experience. Our guide Lydia was very informative and everyone who wanted to, got a chance to hold a bird. The macaws were so impressive. Then we went to visit the very cute farm animals. Mother nature didn't gift us with great weather but the gardens still looked beautiful and our 6 year went back twice to the boat. When the weather cleared a bit we still saw the amazing view. I would also recommend visiting the toilets for a surprise in there. Can't believe I've been to Maleny so many times and never visited here. We will definitely be back.

The word that pops into my head the minute we arrive at Maleny Botanic Gardens and Bird Sanctuary is WOW. I have visited here once before and it is even more spectacular than I remember. From the birds you can get a photo with at the entrance, to the sweeping views of the Glass House Mountains, this place will blow you away. There are buggies for hire if you don't want to walk around the paths, that can be a little steep in places. There are also many rotundas dotted around the gardens where you can sit and relax. Of course you can visit the farm friends enclosure and also take a walk through the bird aviaries with a guided tour. There are so many gorgeous birds to see. Also there is a kiosk and cafe. Definitely worth a visit. Make sure to allow a few hours.
