Foaming Fury has been successfully operating full day Russell River and half-day Barron River white water rafting adventures since 1986. During this time, Foaming Fury has built a reputation for the highest quality service, excellent safety standards and training. Foaming Fury employs only the most professional river guides. All rafts are imported from South Africa and they are made from the best quality materials and engineered with state of the art equipment. The business is owned and operated by long term local, Roderic Rees. Roderic knows Foaming Fury from the ground up. He began working for the company as a Rafting Guide in 2007, he then cross trained to be a Tour Guide, then Rafting Supervisor, Operations Manager and General Manager. Loving it so much, Roderic eventually purchased the business in 2014 becoming sole owner in 2016. He brings a total commitment to safety and education, which underpins every element of Foaming Fury’s operations. Passionate about Cairns, its rivers and natural environment, Roderic believes conservation starts with education. By providing guests with an awesome time, they will engage with the environment, which builds awareness, connection and a desire to help protect it. Foaming Fury guides and staff are trained to the highest possible standard by certified swift water rescue technicians. We look forward to showing you the rivers of Cairns and Tropical North Queensland on a Foaming Fury adventure.

6 months agoAbsolutely amazing experience. Was the highlight of our trip and Ash our guide was brilliant. Knowledgeable, funny and made our experience an unforgettable one. Highly recommend doing this as it's fun, thrilling and gets the adrenaline pumping.

a year agoIt was an amazing tour! We only had a half day left and therefore did Barron instead of Tully but it was so good. The whole tour was very well organized and best of all, our amazing guide Keanu showed us a great time! He was very experienced and super fun. Highly recommend this tour!

10 months agoA nice tour, with friendly guides, this tour is a good introduction to white water rafting. It was great to get a comprehensive training on how to manage the rapids and work as a team. The one big downside was not being able to participate in the most exciting part of the tour the rapid surfing. We were denied the opportunity to participate because we there were two people on our raft to who were not able to swim, despite some other rafts having multiple goes, they never once told us we were not going to be given a turn. I was watching in anticipation of having a go then at the last moment we left, my daughter asked if we could have a turn and they said no, they could have swapped us to another boat for that part, felt let down, this could have easily been solved by better organisation.

a year agoWe had the most amazing afternoon Rafting the Barron River with Foaming Fury! Our raft guide Riley is funny guy!!! Extra 5 Stars to Him. Wonderful Wonderful Guide, Friendly, experienced & made our day exciting, loads and loads of fun filled and super adventurous experience 🤗Would definitely do it again with them.
