Just finished the Victorian High Country tour and cannot recommend it enough. Luke and Curley made the tour feel more like a group of mates travelling than a tour. Great bunch of blokes with lots of knowledge and provided an exceptional 6 days even with inclement weather conditions. From mechanical issues to recovery the boys were always there with a plan to keep things moving. Even land cruisers need a little help sometimes (that snatch will go down in the history books right Luke?) All in all a great tour, excellent countryside and a very friendly atmosphere with new friendships made along the way. I look forward to seeing you on the next tour.

SIMPSON DESERT TOUR: Their published daily itinerary is a useful reference guide. However, we very quickly became aware that the published itinerary is only one of the possible options for that day. On occasion, this was due to changing circumstances or road conditions/closures etc, which of course is perfectly understandable. However, the tradies also made changes to both routes & destinations from time to time, as they saw fit. In our experience, these changes to the itinerary were always motivated by Luke & Curl's desire to deliver the best possible experience for their guests. We felt safe at all times. All experiences were managed with sensitivity to risk and ensuring that a good time was had by all guests. Luke & Curl are both likeable blokes, easy to be around and easy to get along with. They frequently sought the opinions of guests and always endeavoured to deliver on any special requests, whether that be food or itinerary related. Memorable highlights in the catering department included the serving of hot pies while we visited a lookout on day 1. Then later in the tour, the serving of a spectacular camp oven prepared roast pork meal. At one point, we were surprised to be served impressive hors d'oeuvres prior to dinner. A delicious sunset BBQ on the iconic Big Red was another catering highlight. All in all, the OffRoad Tradies delivered a very special and memorable Simpson Desert experience for us, one that we will treasure for years to come.

Our family of four (2 kids - 4yo & 6yo) took part in the Vic/SA Border Track Adventure Tour on the June long weekend. The kids loved every moment of the tour. It is great not having to worry about cooking. Basically set up camp and relax. We got to meet other like minded people on the tour that we now class as friends! This track is a fun experience and one that everyone should tick off their 4x4 bucket list. We are not experienced 4X4 drivers and found that Luke & Curl were very encouraging and walked us through anything we were unsure about. We highly recommend booking a tour with The Offroad Tradies!! In fact we are looking to book the Desert to Dunes Tour next.

100% recommend these Tradies. Having just recently finished the Victorian High Country tour with the Offroad Tradies I cannot sing their praises high enough! Had the most amazing 4wdriving and camping adventure made perfect by their attentiveness to everyone's needs including dietary needs when it came to preparing gourmet meals for us. Many laughs and great story telling was had around the nightly campfires along with some very funny radio banter. Luke and Curl, thanks so much for creating a memorable trip for us and will definitely be seeing you guys again on another tour. Cheers Anna & David R

WOW. What an experience The Offroad Tradies gave us over 6 days. With us having a basic knowledge of off roading, the crew at The Offroad Tradies helped us grow in confidence as they took us from a gentle hut tour on the first day, small climbs on the 2nd day to some of the best known spectacular 4x4 tracks in Victoria over the next 3 days, if not Australia. Fantastic food prepared fresh every day. Campfires at night and lots of laughs as they made our entire group feel at ease and welcome. Very highly recommend going on any of The Offroad Tradies expeditions. Keep up the great work.

    Insurance
The Offroad Tradies strongly recommends that all participants have comprehensive vehicle insurance in addition to third party insurance plus a premium roadside service cover with the relevant motoring body from their State eg RACV, NRMA or RACQ. Any
costs relating to vehicle maintenance, damage and repairs that occur on tour will not be covered/paid by The Offroad Tradies; these costs are to be covered by the driver/owner.

Will there be phone coverage on your tour?
You will have some phone coverage along the way on the tours, it will be intermittent and not always a very good signal. When we do have coverage we allow time for calls and texts if needed. In saying that we are travelling remote Australia, why spoil the scenery with the need for the internet or phone call. * A sat phone is available for emergency calls.

How long/far do we drive each day?
We travel varying distances depending on the road conditions and the tour. We usually discuss the dayโ€™s events before departure. We aim to be on the road 8.30am each morning and stop for lunch between 12:30pm-1:30pm. We stop at points of interest throughout the day and try to set up camp well before sunset.

Do we get much time to ourselves for sightseeing? There is time allocated to explore towns, feature areas, fish, and to take in what the area has to offer. Some places we will stay more than one night.

    Are trailers/camper allowed on tours?
It is preferred that you don't but we understand that with a family this can sometimes be difficult. Therefore, we only allow heavy duty off road camper trailers on some of our tours. The terrain of some areas is very rugged and difficult to access/turn with some steep climbs or water crossings to overcome, especially on the Old Telegraph Track and Victorian High Country.  There can be extra surcharges on trailers to cover extra camping costs and additional barge fees. If you would like to bring a camper/trailer please contact us and we can discuss it further.

    Are children welcome?
ABSOLUTELY.... We are all about getting the family out exploring and making memories together in the Australian Outback. You are responsible 100% for the safety and care your own children.  We will do our best to make it easier for you to enjoy the tours with children. Our children and families may also attend some tours.

    What about pets?
Such a difficult question nowadays, Generally no. There are a couple of tours that will allow small or very friendly dogs, but for all the others it's a firm no, we travel in remote conditions and through National Parks and private properties that do not allow pets..

How do we know what to pack?
When we receive your booking form and deposit, a detailed tour outline with all the information will be sent to you.

Are we camping in caravan parks?
No, our tours provide a mixture of Campgrounds, National Parks, Station Stays, Rural properties and Bush Camps. You will be required to bring your own form of sleeping equipment whether that be a swag, tent, roof top tent/camper or camper trailer. At most camps there will be toilet, and some have shower facilities and we try our best to supply these options. However sometimes this is not an option. * On some tours we will stay for one night at the end of the tour at a caravan park or similar to make use of facilities. You can choose to upgrade to a cabin or room if available, we can book this for you, it is at additional costs to the tour cost.

Is the price set or will be there be extra charges?
There will be extra chargers for any extra-curricular activities you wish to participate in when on tour. These include things like fishing charters, museum tours, boat trips, or any other elected trips or tours all of which are done at your own expense. All the camping costs and National Parks permits, Ferry costs, (main meals in fully catered options) are paid by us on every one of our tours.

What if I fall ill when on a tour?
We are equipped with a UHF radio and a Satellite Telephone to use to contact emergency services/family members if required. We are first aid certified and we carry a first aid kit in case the need arises. As stated in the T&Cs we are not held accountable for any accidents of injuries or costs that occur on tour, so we suggest you make sure your ambulance cover and health insurances are up to date.

What food/meals can we expect when on a tour?
We cater or all here, breakfast variations from cereal, toast, pancakes, jaffles, croissants, bacon and eggs. Lunches can be sandwiches, rolls, wraps, pies, sausage rolls, snitzel rolls, hot dogs, meat and gravy rolls. Snacks on the run nachos, chicken wings, cheese and meat platter. Dinner, camp oven meals (Roasts, savoury mince, spaghetti, stew), BBQ (chicken, sausages, steak, homemade rissoles, kebabs), Mexican night (tacos and fajita's), Butter or honey mustard chicken, baked potatoes, stir-fries,  the list goes on. Dessert, not every night but we will cook our signature Golden Syrup Dumplings when possible, ice cream, puddings, scones, damper. * we do have Gluten free options for most meals and can adapt to Vegetarian options if needed.
