Join us in this 4 hour epoxy workshop were we go through everything from wood choice, wood prep, moulds, pouring and achieving a beautiful gloss finish. Resin is so much fun to work with, can make for a great hobby and can lead to all sorts of interesting projects. Things can also go horribly wrong if you don't have the right information and we know from expereince that using quality products makes a big difference. In this workshop you'll not only learn about epoxies, how they work and best practices we'll also go through wood choices, wood prep, moulds, how to make your own and what products to use as well as sanding and polishing.
Together we will demonstrate the pouring of a river table, we'll show you how we built the mould, what products we used & then you'll get to create your very own serving board or wall art roughly 400mm x 320mm with the colour and style of your choice. As this particular epoxy resin takes 4-7 days to fully cure, it will see you finish your boards at home, only requiring a sander and some oil for finishing. Every step will be demonstrated and you will have hands on experience on already cured pieces so you know EXACTLY what to do when you get your cured piece home. If this isn't possible for you at home, then I am happy for you to do this at the studio with my guidance.

2 months agoHad a fantastic afternoon at a resin art workshop with Rochelle @CollectiveObsessions. Rochelle was fun and patient with all our questions (most of us were novices) and helped us with our colour choices to achieve amazing results. Would highly recommend #CollectiveObsessions for your next private party for the creative and not so creative.

6 months agoAMAZING! Seriously highly recommend collective obsessions art class! Rochelle was just brilliant, so friendly and made us feel really comfortable. Her experience and knowledge about paint pouring really shows and was on point! I have tried paint pouring many times and there is so much information online that varies drastically but what we got told and experienced first hand was a beautiful pour with guaranteed cells! The studio is beautiful, professional, user friendly and particularly clean considering the mess that can come from paint pouring (and there is a lovely selection of nibbles to get you through as well as art you can purchase)! I learnt so much and will definitely be back. I will include pictures of the painting I did while I was there that I got to take home. So happy! Thanks Rochelle!

2 months agoCollective Obsessions reignited my artistic side that had laid dormant for too long! After 6 months of attending workshops I decided to become a Member and it was the very best decision ever! In fact I’ve recently renewed for another year. Love learning new techniques in workshops and attending open days to have a play. Rochelle is an amazing artist who makes learning different mediums and techniques not only easy but lots of fun too! She’s an incredibly generous person with her time and knowledge. She loves to see the joy her students experience when they nail a technique and achieve their own stunning results. I love being at Collective Obsessions, seeing what others have done and generally being inspired to create my own art in a light and joyful dedicated art space. Truly my happy place and cannot recommend highly enough. Creating is fulfilling and ever so satisfying. Art is a great obsession to have and there’s no better place to be an obsessed artist than at Collective Obsessions!

11 months agoWent to a corporate event last week. Rochelle put so much thought and effort into preparing for us and the art part of the evening was brilliantly done. A quick demo which kept us all interested and then we were let loose with words of encouragement and support to tease out the hidden artist in us all.
