Do I need to book?
Booking is essential to avoid disappointment - book online.
What supervision do children need?
Climbers 7 and 8 years old - ESSENTIAL - 1 climbing adult for every 2 children. However, for the best experience for your child, we RECOMMEND 1 climbing adult for every child. Adults are required to assist during some elements of the course.
Climbers 9 to 16 years - 1 adult (participation not required) for every 6 children, however, we recommend extra supervising adults per group where possible. Supervising adults must be 17 years and over and are free to watch from the ground.
What is the maximum weight?
The maximum weight we allow for our high rope course is 120 kg. Please notify our staff if you weigh more than 100 kg to have an appropriate harness fitted.
What should I wear?
Enclosed shoes are essential and we recommend that you dress comfortably in clothing suitable for outdoor activities and the weather. Long pants and long sleeve shirts, although not essential, can reduce the risk of being bitten by insects (the forest is home to insects like flies and mosquitoes). No loose clothing or shirts wrapped around the waist.
Long hair must be tied back and jewellery that could get caught in a rope should be avoided.
We are open rain or shine so it is always a good idea to come prepared for the weather. Guests can be refused access if they do not wear appropriate clothing.
What happens if it rains?
We donβt let the rain stop us from having fun and our course is totally safe in the rain. The only time we stop climbing is if there is lightning or high winds. In this case, we close our courses until the weather has passed, and get everyone back up climbing as quickly as possible.
How long will I be there?
High Ropes sessions are two hours in length, including training. We do ask that you arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled start time to ensure that you are harnessed and ready to start training on time.
During your training, we will explain the rules of the park and show you how to safely use the equipment before getting you to complete a practice course. Once the instructor is confident that you are ready they will direct you to a suitable course to start on. You can expect to complete two to three courses during your 2-hour session.
Do I need to agree to the Terms and Conditions?
All participants need to agree to our terms and conditions and sign a waiver before they can climb. A pre-arrival check-in email will be sent to you after you book, or you can complete the check-in on our iPads when you arrive. At Forest Adventures South West, we love the environment and our check-in system is 100% paperless. You can also complete your check-in by clicking here.
I have been before - do I need to sign a waiver and do the practice course again?
Due to our insurance requirements, you will need to complete a waiver, be trained by our staff and do the practice course every time you come to Forest Adventures to climb.
