The Point Nepean Dolphin Sanctuary sea kayak tour starts off the beach at Sorrento.

The tour then travels towards Portsea then onto Point Nepean National Park. This tour provides the experience of seeing Bottlenose and Common dolphins up close.

This tour is a real adventure with crystal clear water, sandy beaches, mansions along the foreshore, yachts in the water; what more could you want to experience?

Visit the former quarantine station at lunch time, go for a swim or just look out over the “Heads” and Queenscliff and relax.

What's included?

Start

This kayak tour starts on the Sorrento Foreshore to the west of Sorrento Yacht Club.
Staff then greets clients.
There is an exchange of medical and indemnity forms
Life jackets are then correctly fitted.
If it's cold then spray jackets and thermals are also issued.
Clients are then grouped into pairs and the rudder system is adjusted for the back person steering.
A safety talk is then conducted.
The group will then practise some basic paddling skills in the water.

Break

Lunch is on the beach at Point Nepean Park beside the fascinating former quarantine station.
The break is 30 - 45 minutes long.
Lunch is gourmet rolls, hot and cold drinks, fruit and biscuits.
There is time to have a look around the former quarantine station while taking in amazing views of the "Heads" and Queenscliff.

Return

Stop off on the way back at the Pt King Lookout and perhaps an opportunity for a swim.
The group then paddle back to the start and disembarks at the Sorrento foreshore.
High 5s all around.
Life jackets and paddles are then returned and you are on your way to a vineyard, mineral baths, pub or home etc.

Had a great time. Guides were great to be with. A beautiful evening on the Yarra watching the light and water show. Also the flame show. Even thinking about doing it again with another person. Great way to see part of Melbourne. Felt very safe.

Want to see Melbourne from a completely different experience? I recommend you the Sea Kayak Sunset during sunset. It was a fun, unforgettable, and exciting adventure in the middle of the city. We were lucky to have a cool guide (Dane) that shared his knowledge about the city and maybe the experience super easy. 100% recommended!

My boyfriend and I went on the twilight city tour, and it was everything and more than we had expected. The communication from the team before, during and after was super clear, useful and friendly. We were on the water for a good two hours, the equipment was great, the fact we were absolute beginners was not a problem, and our guide was funny and friendly. I honestly couldn't recommend this oarsome experience highly enough. Witnessing the crown fire show just after sundown was a spectacular finish to a lovely evening.

This experience was amazing; Exceeded every expectation. We had 6 people go, the youngest being 13. The safety talk and instructions at the beginning meant we all new what to do and had a great time. We went in the evening session and the views were breathtaking. We will be doing this again next time we’re in Melbourne.

This tour is designed for people who like adventure, who have little kayaking experience and are of medium fitness.
The tour is 6 hours duration with 4.5 hours of paddling time.
Lunch is on the beach at Point Nepean Park. The break is 30 - 45 minutes long. Lunch is gourmet rolls, hot and cold drinks, fruit and biscuits.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend your course on the day you have booked we will endeavour to reschedule you to a later time with no penalty fee, given sufficient notice.
Refunds will only be granted for medical reasons and must be accompanied by a doctor’s certificate.
A $10 administration fee will be deducted from any refund.
Prior to 14 days before the course refunds will be full (less $10 administration fee).
Between 7-14 days of the course a cancellation fee of 25% will be deducted from the refund.
Within 7 days of the course no refund will be issued as staffing is still requiring to be remunerated unless sufficient medical documentation is supplied.
