Your day starts bright and early so you can get to the attractions before the crowds! Pickups from hotels start at 6:30 am.
The greatest thing about this tour is it goes in reverse to the typical Great Ocean Road Tours: On this tour the guide will drive inland in the morning, arrive at the attractions before all the crowds get there, and comes back through the world-famous coastline, the Great Ocean Rd.
The first stop will be at Colac where you can get in a good stretch and enjoy a coffee (at own expense). From there you go straight to the first attraction: the 12 Apostles! And this internationally famous magnificent limestone formations' lookouts will not be crowded with people. It's awesome.
On this tour, you are guaranteed to visit at least four awe-inspiring attractions, London Bridge, Loch Ard Gorge, The Razorback and of course, the 12 Apostles.
Lunch stop (at own expense) will be at the lovely town of Port Campbell, if you fancy it, you can go for a little walk to the enclosed beach for some amazing pictures!
On your way back you will travel along the Great Ocean Road coastline. Through Apollo Bay, your guide will share some interesting stories and facts about the city while on your way to Kenneth River.

7 months agoMatthew conducted our 12 hour Great Ocean Road tour, yesterday, and every moment was perfectly planned, the photo ops we had, the options for stops, my fellow travellers, the entire day was informative, entertaining, and you gave us glorious weather PLUS rainbows, I couldn't improve on all the effort you put in. Comfy bus, I felt very safe as we traversed mountain twists and turns as well and ocean side switchbacks. I commend you!

a year agoJust finished up the reverse itinerary tour today and can hardly explain in words how amazing the experience was! Our guide Gui was professional, polite and warming to my friend and I (along with the rest of the group), was very knowledgeable regarding the Great Ocean Road, and kept us all entertained with fun facts and history about the locations. Despite the long distances covered, and winding roads, Gui drove safely and allowed plenty of time for us to get off and explore each destination at our own pace - he even managed to sneak in a few extra stops along the way! The minibus was comfortable, well air-conditioned, stocked with water, and was filled with Gui's excellent taste in music. The smaller group size also made the experience feel much more like a homey family road-trip which was great. The timing of the tour also meant that each destination was quiet and empty, which made taking photos and exploring much more pleasant, without the need to queue up behind other tourists to take pictures, walk around etc. Overall, I cannot recommend Hit the Road Tours enough - though I don't usually write reviews I had to make an exception for what was easily one of the best experiences I've had on holidays to date. Thank you to Gui and the rest of the team for the memories - I wish you all the best and hope to tour with you again in future!

He does a great commentary about the tour, has exceptional ideas about various places and historical monuments. Very friendly and patient. Would highly recommend !! And my boyfriend and I did really enjoy the Great Ocean Road trip with him! We do wanna come back Melbourne again, and wish we can travel by his tour trip again!!! See ya Melbourne!
