This course is designed for Beginner to Intermediate paddlers. We can even put an expert through their paces! This course has been described as a true experience!
Our popular two day course is designed to give you the fundamental skills necessary to start sea kayaking safely on protected waters and to attain your Paddle Australia Basic Skills Award.
With its mix of paddle skills, half day guided paddle* and theoretical knowledge it is a great weekend's experience. Our Instructor/Student ratio is a maximum of 1:6, so you are assured of first class tuition and service.

Sea Starter Courses are held monthly at our Training & Hire Centre at Sandringham over two days: Saturday and Sunday.

3 months agoHad a great time. Guides were great to be with. A beautiful evening on the Yarra watching the light and water show. Also the flame show. Even thinking about doing it again with another person. Great way to see part of Melbourne. Felt very safe.

a month agoGreat relaxing paddle starting in a quiet bay that takes you along the shoreline into the more exciting Bass straight. Rohan is a great guide, who knows the area well and provides good instruction before and during to ensure everyone is safe and enjoying the experience.

4 months agoGreat experience kayaking on the river Yarra in Melbourne on their Twilight City Tour. Rohan and the team were amazing and made the tour extra special with their anecdotes and stories. The sunset over Melbourne was special and it was a great experience to see Melbourne from a different angle. Would definitely recommend for something slightly different and special.

It was a fun, unforgettable, and exciting adventure in the middle of the city. We were lucky to have a cool guide (Dane) that shared his knowledge about the city and maybe the experience super easy. 100% recommended!
