a week agoWhat a day packed with snorkelling and diving activities in the great barrier reef guided by friendly passionate staff 😀. It was a marvellous day to be out and we were told we were lucky to be taken to the areas they haven't been able to get to due to bad weather conditions. Kelsey from Texas with bubbly personality went over instructions on snorkelling as we approached the first reef. It was my first snorkelling attempt and Steve literally held my hand and took me to the reef from the boat after thoroughly going through what to do and not to do. Floating around with all sorts of fish residents in the reef and the colourful corals was surely priceless memorable experience. After each snorkelling session, cookies and fruits with hot beverages were offered. The lunch included sandwich ingredients as well as salads and antipasto. During lunch, passionate Steve gave a nice educational talk on the reef (formation, history, what colours indicate, etc). I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the colourful corals only to find out healthy corals are supposed to be brown! Walked away with a good reminder what we do as an individual impacts the planet no matter where we live. Alcohol only allowed for purchase after the last snorkelling session on the way back. At the start of the day I thought to myself 'I should have booked a half day tour only... what am I going to do all day out in the water....' By the end of the day, 'OMG the day went by so fast and I want to do this again!!!' $300 well spent. Thanks to the genuinely lovely staff that made the day even more enjoyable 😉

a week agoMy sister and I went on the 1/2 day cruise of low Isle today 15th April. The low Isles was beautiful, with a quick tour around and a bit of history. The only downside was it was a very rough trip out and very seasick. (So maybe want to take some tablets prior to departure). Obviously no fault at all to Calypso. All 3 staff today were helpful, friendly, and especially caring during the entirety of the trip. Would definitely do this trip again!

Big thanks to Jess that toke my son on his first dives at the very last minute and Daniella and Cedric that made the day 5 out of 5. So glad we picked you guys for our cruise and making it such a memorable day. You won't be dissapointed if you book with these guys.

6 months agoMy wife, 23-year-old daughter and I had a fantastic time in a Calypso scuba/snorkel cruise. We all did introductory dives as none of us is licensed. Our instructor, Pam from Argentina, was the best. She patiently explained then modeled the skills required to do the dive. Then we put on our gear (Pam made sure everything fit correctly). Next, slowly we entered the water. Then Pan had each of use demonstrate that we could do the 3 required skills. She explained & modeled again when necessary. After we all 3 did it, we started descending slowly. The challenge is mostly mental: relax & breathe slowly. Below the surface we saw beautiful coral and sea life. The colors of fish. The schools of fish. The crabs. One last word. I am nearsighted. When I snorkeled 30 years ago I saw nothing but blurs. Calypso has prescription lenses (at no extra cost) and I saw clearly. It was a miracle. We’ll done Calypso and Pam! Thank you.
