On this tour you’ll meet titanosaur sauropods, Cooper and George, the largest dinosaurs to have ever been found in Australia. Titanosaurs are one of the last remaining sauropod groups in the Cretaceous Period and also were the largest ever land-dwelling animals. The bones of Australotitan cooperensis are the largest bones of any dinosaur so far discovered in Australia, which makes them the largest bones of any animal to have walked the Australian continent.
Our local guides have an in-depth knowledge of fossil hunting and delight in unravelling the mysteries of the past. They’ll demonstrate exposing the fossilised bone using specialised tools. You’ll also see the incredible Eulo megafauna fossils and other natural history collections.
It’s not every day that you get close enough to touch a 95 million-year-old dinosaur bone!

2 weeks agoWhat an AMAZING experience, stopped by on a recommendation by a previous tour guide and we were blown away. Knowledgeable staff answered every question my son had explained things clearly. The research centre was incredible!

5 months agoNice tour into the lab and did the tour where you get to find real dinosaur bones in the stone. Nice cafe. Good gift shop. Nicest staff you will ever meet. The only thing is that there is not much to do if you don’t pay for a tour.

5 months agoWhat a fascinating experience. Really enjoyed our visit. The timeline film really puts things into perspective, as do the replica bones of Cooper. The real bones of the titanosaurs are awesome. The painstaking work being done by volunteers and palaeontologists to clear the bones of the surrounding rock is amazing.

6 months agoWe stayed in Quilpie and travelled the just 100 kms to Eromanga. We timed it for coffee and cake before the tour. The staff are amazing. Not only do they make great coffee, but they are very passionate about the work being done at the museum. You would not expect to find such a place in a remote township as Eromanga. If you're doing a road trip in outback l Queensland book a tour and call in.

9 months agoWell worth the short drive 1.5 hrs from Quilpie. The place is amazing and the guided tour was informative and very professionally delivered. Just mind blowing when you consider that this planet we call home is so much older than we think in terms of human life…just the car park indeed Looking forward to coming back when the next stage of development is completed
