Our 2 hour introduction to surf session is for anyone 13 years and up who just want to jump on a board and experience the thrill of surfing.
This is a great session for first timers or someone who has done one or 2 lessons and just need a bit more help with the basics. The intro lesson is conducted in the white wash, in waist deep water so its safe for anyone.
If you want to "get your surf on" you will arrive at the beach in your boardies frothing to get in the water after a quick safety brief. You won’t be ready to join the pros at Straddie, but we do guarantee we will do everything we can to get you standing up and catching a wave in the white wash in the first 2 hour session
The Spit Beach, The Gold Coast’s favourite learn to surf beach, is approximately an 8 minute drive from the heart of Surfers Paradise and offers FREE all day parking for people with their own transport.
The closest public transport terminus is the Sea World bus stop (servicing the 704 bus from Helensvale train station via Southport and the 705 bus from Surfers Paradise). The Sea World bus stop is a comfortable 2.5 km walk to our head office.

Total 5 STAR ***** My son Eli has attended lessons and has now progressed to squad lessons on a Sunday and after all this time I decided at 54 I need to experience what brings him so much happiness. So I did a lesson and now I get it ! The professionalism of the staff and the passion they have to everyone attending is so great to have been a part of. Everything is explained so well and I think we all came away feeling so proud of ourselves. I am left wanting more also. Thank you to all the team at Get Wet Surf

2 weeks agoThe best pressie for all the cousins! The 5 kids had an absolutely awesome day over the Easter holidays catching waves and hanging out. Thanks to the Get Wet Surf School @ The Spit for teaching the kids some new skills and making it fun. They slept well!

3 weeks agoGreat day learning to surf with 2 surf instructors. They had us as a group of 7 and easily had us all in the water taking turns. It was fun, they made sure we understood what to do. Nice explanations, easy to understand (I’m pretty uncoordinated but today I followed well, thanks to the instructors teaching). Easy to follow, welcoming and encouraging instructors. So much fun! 4 months agoYou can’t control the weather, but we lucked out and it was a gorgeous day. Perfect surf for our first lessons with Emilio. Super friendly staff and they have everything you need. Just bring your towel and swimwear. Make sure to purchase/coordinate a pickup/dropoff beforehand if you’re staying at the hotels in Surfers Paradise.

a month agoHad a fantastic beginners lesson at Get Wet Surf school for 3 beginners. The lesson was informative, interactive and fun filled throughout. The team provided all the equipment including rash shirts and looked after our personal safety throughout teaching us about the dangers of surfing and the sea before we even engaged in the lesson. Total time in the water was between 50 minutes to 1 hour and was physical but incredibly rewarding. Billy and Sammy were fantastic instructors throughout, both hilarious, entertaining but diligent and helpful providing tips and encouragement especially when we started catching waves. Would highly recommend this as a class to anyone visiting the Gold Coast and Billy and Sammy for being fantastic hosts. Thanks again!!
