Discover the beauty and wonder of Cape Tribulation on this full day tour with Indigenous Experience at Mossman Gorge.
Cape Tribulation is where the world’s oldest continually surviving tropical rainforests, meet the world’s greatest living tropical reef, the Great Barrier Reef. Nowhere else on earth do two natural World Heritage listed sites exist side by side.
Commence the adventure with a scenic coastal drive from Cairns to Port Douglas. This is the far north’s very own great ocean road and provides panoramic views over the sparkling Coral Sea.
Heading north our first stop is at Mossman Gorge, which is in the southern sector of the world famous Daintree National Park. This gorge has been carved out by the cold mountain waters of the Mossman River.
There’s the opportunity for you to enjoy a refreshing swim in the cascading waters.
Be amazed at the huge diversity you will encounter, everything from low lying ferns and shrubs, to the massive rainforest canopy and even mangrove ecosystems all in one short easy walk.
Indigenous Welcome to Country
Arriving at Mossman Gorge you’ll be met by the traditional owners and participate in a “Welcome to Country” and Smoke Ceremony with the Kuku Yalanji. Learn about the weapons, custom and culture of the Bama (Rainforest) people with an informative presentation.

a month agoWe did the Atherton Tablelands waterfalls tour. Carols was our guide and he was the best tour guide ever! Definitely ask for him if you can. Everything was awesome but he made it that much better with his personality and wealth of knowledge. Would definitely recommend.

3 years agoWe did the A day tour to Cape Tribulation, Mossman Gorge, Daintree Rainforest including the River Crocodile Cruise These guys are Amazing! Especially our young tour guide ...I think Tom (hope we are right) Before we describe our experience in great details, let it very clear, this was AMAZING tour as per what they are offering..Including the crocodile river cruise. The reason we chose this one was that it almost includes everything that we would like to do in Cairns / Port Douglas other than The Great Barrier Reef, of course. Also, it allows us to reduce our carbon footprint and last and definitely the only other reason was that we did not have much time on our hand. The itinerary is just correct, and offers you exactly what they have mentioned. The guides are fantastic and knowledgeable and friendly, with plenty of stories to learn and know. Now, our only personal disappointment with regards to the tour was the lunch. The quality of food was very average (not to forget the portions as well). One can argue that during Covid lockdown that's what the cafe could offer...And.the only cafe open yet the morning toasties at the mossman gorge were way better and filling than what we ate. Now the disappointment that has absolutely NOTHING to do with the tour or the company. We take full responsibility of this disappointment, and are only mentioning for those who would ideally prefer some longer trail-walks / trekking opportunities: If you have time constraint and book this one then don't expect lot of walking and quality breaks And if you have lot of time on hand, please don't book this one, and try finding an itinerary that does all these places in a span of two days. Since this itinerary covers up everything that is a Must See around the area in a day's time, it was unjustified for us to.expect more than what we already did. Also, because it was during summer season we did the crocodile cruise, we did not get to see much action, nevertheless we enjoyed if.

7 months agoWe highly recommend booking a trip with Active Tropics Explorer. Booking our online day trip to Mossman Gorge, Daintree River, and Cape Tribulation was easy and convenient. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience! Our pick-up from Palm Cove went smoothly, and our guide/driver, Riley, was fantastic. Riley was highly knowledgeable, ensured our schedule was on point, and enriched our day with insights about the area. The entire bus's atmosphere was cheerful and enjoyable. We extend our gratitude to Riley and the Active Tropics Explorer team for delivering such a wonderful day!
