This flight is perfect for those who would like surprise their loved one with a helicopter flight but would like to take it up a notch. Whether it’s for a birthday, anniversary or just because – Brisbane during sunset is a sight to behold. For those looking to make a real impression, our Qantas Imperial Airways lounge at JetBase is available as an optional extra before and after the flight.

Your flight will depart ten minutes prior to the sunset. Climbing initially to 1000ft (300m) above Brisbane, we will be heading towards the east, flying around Mt Gravatt and then towards St Lucia University.

Your pilot will then gain clearance to enter Brisbane CBD Airspace. To make sure that everyone gets a turn to see the beautiful sights from all angles, we will make two orbits, one clockwise and one anticlockwise.

Next, we clear controlled airspace and fly past Mt Coot-tha. In the distance you will see the majestic Glass House Mountains. We will then fly past the TV Towers. On the way back we will once again see South Bank and West End from a different perspective.

Our aircraft are top of the line. Bose Headsets are supplied and come with some of the best noise cancelling technology available, the power ports ensure that they never run out of battery. Air-conditioning is standard across most of our fleet, something that most of our competitor’s aircraft do not feature.

What happens on the day?

It’s surprisingly straight forward. The helicopter is yours – you are not relying on anyone else to turn up, thus no chance of a cancellation due to a no-show. We advice to arrive 5-10min before your departure time. Your pilot will greet you at the lounge, and walk you to the air side of the historic Archerfield Airport. There we will have plenty of time to show you around our helicopter. Once the safety brief is complete, it’s time for the photos. Your pilot will guide you into the helicopter, make sure everyone is seated comfortably and start the aircraft. The run-up checks usually take only a couple minutes (sometimes a little longer if it’s cold or Air Traffic Control is busy). We then fly the path shown above. After landing we shut down the helicopter and give you more opportunities for photos and to answer any more of your questions. Finally we walk with you back to where the experience had begun.

• We fly 7 days a week, flights run at any time during daylight hours. We are closed on the 25th 26th 31st of Dec and 1st of Jan.
  
• Our scenic flights usually run between 8:30 – 16:30 with some exceptions. The only special flight is our Brisbane City Sunset Spectacular 25 mins tour which has its own time slot each day.
