• Historic Australia tours are rarely cancelled and would only be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. These include, but are not limited to - sick staff member, staff unavailability, injury or unexpected dangerous weather conditions, an emergency/dangerous situation.
• PLEASE NOTE: COVID-19 is no longer an unforeseen circumstance and regular cancellation fees apply.

If a tour booking is cancelled by a client, or if any member of the tour group cancels, the following policies apply:
• Historic Australia must be advised of any change in group numbers in writing by the person who booked the tour.
• Cancellation 0 - 5 business days prior to tour date – No refund granted. No transfer granted.
• Cancellation 5 – 10 business days prior to tour date – Transfers to an alternative date of the same tour is available. Transfers can only be used once. Once a booking has been transferred, the booking will not be able to be transferred again, and will not be eligible for a refund.
• Cancellation 11 or more business days prior to tour date – 50% refund granted (excluding credit card charges).
• Failure to attend the actual tour for any reason is deemed to be a cancellation. Refunds will not apply.
• All cancellations and transfer requests for bookings must adhere to our business hours and be notified by written communication via email to bookings@historicaustralia.com.au
If a tour is cancelled by Historic Australia, the following policies apply:
• Cancellation prior to the tours commencement /before 2/3 of the tour is complete due to unforeseen circumstances* (see above) - tour will be rescheduled & clients will be transferred to another tour of the same value as soon as possible.
• Historic Australia will contact clients promptly to make arrangements.
By undertaking one of our tours, all clients agree to abide by the following:
CLIENTS MUST BE WEARING FLAT-SOLED ENCLOSED SHOES
No thongs/sandals/high-heels. Any person who does not have the correct footwear will not be permitted on the tour. No Refund. No Transfer.
CLIENTS MUST HAVE A TORCH EACH
- Guests are required to bring their own torch. One per person is required. Torch apps on smart phones are suitable.
ALCOHOL IS NOT PERMITTED PRIOR TO OR DURING A TOUR
Clients suspected of being under the influence of alcohol will be denied admission. No Refund. No Transfer.
SMOKING IS NOT PERMITTED DURING A TOUR
Smoking is not permitted at any time during our tours. If anyone forgets this, and starts smoking, they will be asked to immediately cease. If they do not, they may be asked to leave the tour. No Refund. No Transfer.
MOBILE / TABLET DEVICE USE
Mobile / tablet devices are not to be used during any of our tours, with the only exception being for an emergency, or to take photographs. If you use a mobile phone / tablet device for any other purpose during any of our tours, you will be asked to stop. Refusal to do so may result in you being asked to leave the tour. No Refund. No Transfer.
THERE ARE NO TOILET FACILITIES AVAILABLE AT THIS SITE
There are no toilet facilities available at site. Please use facilities elsewhere before joining us at this site.
TOURS WILL STILL RUN IN THE RAIN
The weather really adds to the atmosphere of a tour. If the weather looks bad, bring some wet weather gear, and enjoy the tour. Tours will only be cancelled if conditions become dangerous.
PARANORMAL INVESTIGATIONS & GHOST HUNTING IS NOT PERMITTED
Paranormal investigation / ghost hunting is strictly not permitted on tours. This includes but is not limited to: apps on mobile devices, Ouija boards, pendulums, video and still photography, psychic, medium and clairvoyant channelling of spirits.
• Undertaking a Historic Australia Tour is at your own risk.
• Management reserves the right to refuse admission for any reason.
• Clients engaging in inappropriate behaviour will be removed and not be entitled to a refund.
• Once tours have commenced, clients will be unable to leave the tour group. Visitors must stay with the tour group at all times for their own safety
• Some tours are not suitable for children under 10 years of age. Please read the age requirements for each tour
• For tours allowing children - all children under and including the age of 15 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult
• Clients engaging in criminal offences such as stealing, deliberately damaging or vandalising sites will be removed and may face prosecution.
• Respect the role/authority of the tour guides.
• Proof of age or other identification may be required upon request for clients claiming concessions.
• Historic Australia reserves the right to change a tour itinerary and/or Tour Guide(s) without notice.
• Historic Australia accepts no responsibility for lost or stolen property.
• Photographic cameras are permitted during the course of the tour. To create atmosphere and to prevent blinding other clients and our staff, we ask that clients refrain from using cameras whilst tour guides are speaking.
• Video cameras and recording devices of any sort are NOT permitted.
• All tours, stories, tales etc are the intellectual property of Jack Sim and Historic Australia and may not be recorded or reproduced in any form without written permission prior to the commencement of a tour.
• Respect other client’s experience.
• Respect the historic sites visited.
• Historic Australia reserves the right to refuse entry to any child or person whom is deemed to be at risk from the material presented.
• Horror costumes are not permitted to be worn. Historic Australia reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone wearing a horror costume that is deemed inappropriate or distasteful. No refund. No transfer.
• Paranormal investigation / ghost hunting is strictly not permitted on tours. • Turn torches on when directed to move.
• Torches may be turned off when stopped for atmosphere or left on for comfort.
• Flash cameras (and Torches) can cause blindness when shone in someone's eyes in a dark environment. Anyone found to be deliberately flashing torches/cameras into another's face will be immediately removed the tour - No refund granted.
• A plastic bottle of water/soft drink is recommended (required if suffering of low blood sugar levels i.e. diabetic).
• Stay in single file (unless directed otherwise).
• Do not touch locks, doors and gates.
• Do not lock doors and gates on other people.
• Taller clients should exercise care when entering the cells, yards, rooms and buildings (mind your heads).
• Clients with a fear of confined spaces should not enter cells, yards and rooms alone.
• Smoking, the consumption of alcohol and use of illegal substances are not permitted BEFORE or DURING a tour, any client believed to be intoxicated, inebriated, or otherwise under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol will not be admitted - No refund granted.
• Knives, sharp implements, weapons, pens, pencils, permanent markers, glass bottles, cans, hot food, are strictly not permitted during a tour.
• Loitering at sites at the conclusion of tour is not permitted.
• Switch off mobile phones during tour.
• Limit noise during tours.
• Bring umbrellas/raincoats in wet weather.
Historic Australia strongly recommends that clients with the following medical conditions do not undertake a tour:
• Advanced Pregnancy
• Strained / injured muscles
• Recent surgery
• High blood pressure
• Asthma
• Previous heart attacks
• Weak bladders/bowels
• Difficulties with standing/walking distances
• Difficulties ascending and descending hills and stairs

3 weeks agoI took my 15yr old daughter along for The Toowoong Cemetery Ghost Tour on Saturday over the Easter weekend while visiting from Adelaide. Being a Professional Wedding MC myself I can definitely appreciate the work that has gone into rehearsing all of these ghost stories throughout the cemetery over the 2 hour visit. Andrew nailed it, was absolutely brilliant, we thank you! We'll definitely be checking out more tours on future visits.

2 months agoMy friends and I did the Toowong Cemetery Ghost tour with Andrew on Friday night! Hands down would recommend to anyone visiting or residing in Brisbane!! The weather was gloomy and wet, and the wildlife were like paid actors, with bats, frogs, and insects chirping along in the background of the storytelling. Together it all just elevated the spooky atmosphere of the experience! 👻 Andrew was incredible! He holds so much knowledge and passion on the extensive history of this cemetery, and the lives laid to rest there. This was obvious through the way he was able to captivate his audience with the compelling stories told on its history. It is very clear that a LOT of research has gone in to putting this tour together. It was also nice to hear that some of the ticket prices are put back into restoring this beautiful cemetery.

a month agoExcellent, informative ghost tour by Andrew of the Toowong Cemetery last Saturday night (16 March). He's a great and passionate storyteller whilst minding guests' sensitivities and safety. Appreciated that the tour is about storytelling rather than cheap tricks and scares!

Absolutely glorious storytelling by Andrew who was a genuinely engaging, personable guide with an obvious love and respect for the cemetery and his role. Can't recommend this highly enough.

5 months agoMy partner and I did the Tour tonight of Toowong cemetery with Andrew as our guide. Hands down the best thing we have ever done. Great stories, beautiful views and of course, Andrew is so passionate about it and definitely added to the fantastic environment. Very knowledgeable and helpful.We will be doing EVERY SINGLE tour you offer. Can't wait for next time. We are also really happy that some of the money goes into restoring the cemetery. It's stunning and I'm glad we can be part of that process. Thanks again Andrew, you are definitely in the right job! 11/10 🤘
