a month agoSo glad we visited; two excellent attractions in one. First the story of the first Japanese air raid on Darwin (19 February 1942), and second the history of the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Both are brilliantly presented with holographic movies. There are also excellent VR presentations featuring both attractions. A withdrawn RFDS aircraft completes the display. Sit in the pilots seat, or lie on the patients couch. Great staff too…

4 months agomuseum on the bombing of darwin and rfds all in one! concession available and they have group tickets with other tourist sites like crocosaurus cove too. inspiration to hear about the beginnings and current works of the rfds. merch shop and donate to support the rfds! staff were super friendly and helpful with showing us around the facility also. worth a visit, especially if you catch the Darwin waterfront free shuttle.

3 months agoGreat displays, VR type experiences and cinema shows. They even lent me a towel to dry off with when I entered the building soaking wet. Highly recommend this place!

a year agoThis visit was an amazing experience. We were welcomed by a staff that on few words told us what can we see and what order would work best. That really saved us a lot of time. The 2 hologram stories quite informative, about the bombing of Darwin and how Royal Flying Doctor Service was born and is operated. We checked out a plane with RFDS equipment and the virtual reality experience about bombing of Darwin was quite a treat. The souvenirs store had lots of new and original items. They passed with Flying colours. Highly recommended!

9 months agoWhat a great place to find out about the history of the Royal Flying Doctor service and the bombing of Darwin Harbour. Lots of interactive displays and the virtual reality was great. I loved being able to climb aboard the RFDS plane and I chose the patient virtual reality clip. I kept turning around to see the pilot which was very cool!
