    Their adventure began as they stepped foot on the Northern Rivers Rail Trail at the delightful riverside town of Murwillumbah. With each stride, they discovered a world painted with vibrant hues, where rolling hills, enchanting old rail bridges and meandering rivers unfolded before their eyes. The air was filled with the scent of wildflowers, teasing their senses and inviting them deeper into the heart of this enchanting region.

    As they walked, the group found themselves enchanted by the alluring aroma of freshly baked pastries. The first stop led them to the Tweed Regional Gallery and the Margaret Olley Art Centre. There, they indulged in Parisian-inspired delights, crafted by the talented artisans of Baked at Ancora. They claim to have the "best Parisian pastries this side of the Equator". On a delightful balcony with a view of the impressively majestic Mount Warning they indulge in morning tea of coffee, tea & pastries. 

    Rejuvenated and with newfound energy, the adventurers continued their journey, guided by the trail's twists and turns. They revelled in the joy of exploration, stumbling upon the captivating town of Stokers Siding. Its small town charm and warm hospitality drew them in, and they were treated to a tantalizing lunch of locally sourced produce.

    • The Northern Rivers Rail Trail is suitable for most fitness levels. 
    • The majority of the rail tail is a gentle and gradual slope no greater than 4.5% with some shorter steeper sections up to 15% where pathways bypass some existing bridges. 
    • There are no steep hills, tight bends or sudden drops or dips, if you stay on the shared-user path.  You should be able bodied, adept at walking and able to walk 15km in one day (with stops in-between).

    Day 1:

    • 10:00 am: Begin your journey from Murwillumbah.  Today we will walk at total of 8.3km to our Farm Stay along the Northern Rivers Rail Trail.
    • Walk 2.2km to our first stop. 
    • The Tweed Regional Gallery and the Margaret Olley Art Centre.  Here we will wander through the galleries learning about Bundjalung country and local artists and the esteemed Margaret Olley, who is Australia's most celebrated painter of still life and interiors. Lonely Planet have described this gallery as "exceptional".  Afterwards we will make our way to the Cafe - Apex Dining for a wonderful morning tea.
    • Morning Tea: A balcony dining experience overlooking the majestic Wollumbin, also known as Mt Warning. 
    • Walking continues for 6.1km along a mostly leafy covered track following the train track through small village towns. 
    • Lunch:  As we enter the beautiful village of Stokers Siding we'll stop for our Lunch break and savour locally sourced produce as we immerse ourselves in the flavours of the region.  
    • Afternoon: Wander through the captivating town of Stokers Siding, where history and charm intertwine. Feel the vibrant energy of the locals, and explore hidden gems before making your way to our exclusive farm stay accommodation.
    • Dinner: Under the starry sky, indulge in a sumptuous dinner, crafted with love and care, using locally sourced ingredients. Share stories, laughter, and delectable food with newfound friends, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime.

    Day 2:

    • Breakfast: Rise and shine to the aroma of a hearty camp-cooked breakfast including vegetarian enoki pancakes, green goddess salad, maple bacon annd more delights invigorating your senses for another day of adventure.
    • Morning Walk: Set off on an unforgettable 15km walk today, where each step brings you closer to nature's wonders and deeper into this region's mysteries. Marvel at the Burringbar Train Tunnel, a dark and mystical realm that unveils hidden treasures such as glow worms and microbats.
    • Cheese Tasting: Arriving in Burringbar, surrender to the divine flavours of the Tweed Valley Whey Farmhouse Cheese. Sample an array of artisanal cheeses, each bite transporting you to a world of creamy indulgence.
    • Town Exploration: Immerse yourself in the quaint charm of Burringbar, where an eclectic mix of vintage wares awaits your discovery. Delight in the nostalgia and perhaps indulge in an optional wine tasting, indulging in the flavours of the region (wine tasting is $25 and requires prior arrangement).
    • Glamorous Pop-up Picnic: Indulge in a delightful spread of gourmet delights, a little bit of bubbly (or try your wine out if you've just purchased some). Our stylish pop-up picnic will create a sensory experience that ignites your taste buds and transports you to culinary paradise.
    • After lunch, you'll embark on the final stretch of your journey, walking through the town of Mooball, where streets adorned in cow print add a touch of whimsy to your adventure.
    • The Finale: As you complete the last 35 minutes of the walk, a sense of accomplishment washes over you. Arriving at Crabbes Creek, revel in the picturesque surroundings and visit the old vintage General Store, a hidden gem brimming with nostalgia.
    • Return: Board the bus, filled with unforgettable memories and new friendships, as we bid adieu to the Northern Rivers Rail Trail and head back home.  Departure time is roughly 4.30pm (but there is no need to rush on this journey).
