Overview

Your guide will get you prepared for the day ahead and fitted into your kayaks. We will provide top-notch single or double sea kayaks, high-end paddles, PFD (life vest), and everything else you need for a comfortable morning on the water.

After a safety briefing and introduction to an efficient paddling technique, we'll launch our sleek kayaks and head out under the Anzac Bridge towards the center of the Harbour.

We'll experience the built environs and get up close and personal with many of the harbor's natural wonders and marine inhabitants. Paddle to the center of the harbor, where we'll get some photos of you framed by the Harbour Bridge. We'll continue to Goat Island where you'll land in a secret cove before exploring this special place on foot.

Goat Island is a designated conservation zone and landing is only allowed by a special permit, which is included as part of your tour. After a guided walk around the island, we'll hop back into our kayaks before paddling back via Darling Harbour.

Location

Meet at our boatshed which is located on the edge of the water at Blackwattle Bay only a couple of kilometers from Sydney's center. It's easy to walk from the city, catch a bus or take the light rail. Street parking can be found for drivers.

Kayaking on Sydney Harbour was brilliant - the four hours exploring the waterways and Goat island made the morning feel like a mini holiday. Matt was super knowledgeable, passionate about paddling, and made everyone feel looked after. I really recommend this to anyone (long-time Sydney locals like me) to enjoy the buzz of paddling on the beautiful harbour and learn fascinating stories of Sydney's waterways and history. It was so, so fun and Matt took awesome photos to prove it. I plan to do this again with my daughter and son.

What an awesome experience! The kayaking was so fun and very scenic. Matt was super knowledgeable about the history and culture of Sydney/Australia, and made the activity way more enjoyable with the added information about the area. We chose Paddle Pirates for a team-building day for our work team. We enjoyed a wonderful day out on Sydney Harbour with Matt, who was a delightful and experienced tour guide. The weather was ideal for being out on the water, and the tour of Goat Island was very enlightening, especially with our personal tour guide! I definitely recommend this as one of the best activity experiences I have had in Sydney.

Matt is extremely knowledgeable and friendly! My mom and I were very happy with our kayaking trip. It's great to experience Sydney from the water! And Goat Island is unique - really cool that Matt has a permit! Highly recommend! And he gets great pictures that he sends right afterwards. What a memory!

Although the tour is conducted within the enclosed waters of Sydney Harbour we will need to cancel in the unlikely event of a strong wind warning. These are normally forecast within 3 days at which time you will be notified and a full refund issued.
You must be able to swim and have medium to high level of fitness. this is a proper mini kayaking expedition.

Cancellation Policy

We will provide a replacement voucher or full refund if we cancel due to bad weather or any other reason. Replacement vouchers are offered if client cancels within 14 days of the tour date. No refunds, replacement vouchers or postponements can be offered less than 14 days from the tour date.
No refunds or vouchers for no shows or last minute cancellations i.e. within 14 days of tour date.
