Southwinds is a magnificent 61ft vintage sailing yacht. She has been completely refurbished and available for private charts. Your own private venue for celebrating special occasions or getting away for the weekend.
Our primary sailing charter vessel, Southwinds, has a rich history. Under the name Valhalla, she was one of the first sailing yachts to be skippered around the world by a woman, has competed in the Sydney to Hobart, and has been owned at various times by notable Australians including John Hallas of Ella Bache β the sponsor of Jessica Watsonβs solo circumnavigation of the Southern Hemisphere.
Having held many names over the years, the original name Southwinds was restored as the vessel itself was restored in New Zealand. The 1948 plans for Southwinds, including pencil sketches of her keel profile, lie in the British National Maritime Museum. Launched in 1950, Southwinds was one of the largest and fastest yachts to sail Sydney Harbour, and to this day remains a breathtaking sight.
Your cruise will take place across Sydney Harbour. Your skipper will discuss your cruise options in advance of boarding.
Your voucher(s) and booking information will be included in the confirmation email you will receive shortly after purchasing the experience on Amazed.com.
If the booking needs to be first confirmed by the host, you will receive your Amazed voucher within 24-48 hours of purchase.
