Cover a wide range of sewing techniques whilst working on three garments
Join us at our creative studio for this five-part garment making course. This class has been curated for those wanting to dive a deeper into garment making.
Work on three garment patterns over five sessions, a cardigan wrap, dress and skirt.
We'll guide you through each step from understanding how to read the pattern, cut the pattern, preparing your fabric, and setting up the sewing machine. You will learn how to install darts, add notches, install pockets, hem, sew an elasticated waist band, button holes and buttons and so much more.
If you don't have previous sewing experience, we recommend coming to our Sewing For Beginners class first, this will give you a bit of a head start, but if you're a fast learner, feel free to jump right on in to this class and we'll show you the ropes!

• Rescheduling with less than 7 days notice will result in 100% loss of booking unless we are able to find someone to fill your spot.

a month agoHad a great time recently with Dani at Sydney Creative for my Hens party. Me and my bride tribe did the textured paint and sip class and it was great fun. Dani was patient, accommodating and helpful while we got in touch with our creative side to create some masterpieces. This class was a great opportunity for some of my friends to get to know each other before my wedding. Overall I would highly recommend this for a great group activity and look forward to going back for some of the other activities/classes for future birthday celebrations.

6 months agoHad a fantastic beginners sewing class with Sophie making a cushion. Very well taught and well paced! Didn’t feel rushed at all and the whole class had chances to ask questions and get feedback. Sophie was a great teacher! Keen to enrol for the next level

in the last weekI had a great time learning to sew again in the beginner’s sewing class (last time was in high school) many moons ago. Sophie was supportive, kind, patience, every step was explained clearly. We had 3 hours from start to finish a cushion cover, I love that you get to select your own fabric, hot beverages included which is nice to warm up when it’s a cold and rainy day. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to try and pick up a new skill.

a year agoI highly recommend Sydney Creative. I have enjoyed 2 lessons so far at Sewing & Alterations for Beginners. I have purchased a sewing machine from Sophie & am super excited to start using it. It's been a great experience and good skills to pick up. I walked away learning how to make a non zipper cushion, alterations on different fabrics and picking up good habits when using a sewing machine.
