We are passionate about whale watching and giving our guests the very best experience. Being the second longest operation in NSW.

The Solitary Islands Marine Park is a meeting place where Humpback whales converge on the coastline during their annual migration from Antarctica. This makes the Coffs Coast one of the best and most convenient locations in Australia to experience the whales up close and personal.

Coffs Harbour has a safe access harbour and no sand bar, so our whale watching season operates uninterrupted from June to November annually, weather and sea conditions permitting.

As the whales travel close to the coastline we generally sight whales within 15 minutes of leaving the harbour.

Cruises operate every day from June to November and are only influenced by weather and sea conditions.

We love what we do and try our hardest to ensure our guests experience the same thrills and enjoyment from being with the majestic whales as we do.
As the whales are constantly in motion, it is critical you are free to move around the boat to enjoy the most of your time with the whales. Pacific Explorer has no restrictive seating so there is no need to squeeze inside a cabin or side by side other passengers, ferry style. You are welcome to roam about Pacific Explorer as you interact with the whales.

Two full hours of floating on the ocean surrounded by these magnificent mammals of the ocean, you couldn't ask for better. Lee is a wonderful host that is full of knowledge and Mack the dog has the best Whale radar. Yes, you can get to the action faster on the jet boats but I've found the whales seem to be very curious and want to come up close of their own accord to the quieter slower boat and spend time just swimming alongside us. Highly recommended them

Amazing day out for my son's birthday. Crew where great, spent time chatting with everyone on board and playing with my children. So lucky to see so many whales but even if there weren't any it was such a relaxing day out on the water. Highly recommend this business. Will definitely be using them again.

Had an amazing time on the dolphin watching cruise. The boat, the crew, the location and the dolphins were all perfection. Extra points for captain doggo alerting us to dolphin sightings. I can’t rate this experience highly enough.

Our family had a great time on our dolphin cruise thank-you. We saw dolphins but even if we didn’t it was a chance to get out on the water and have a cruise around & see Coffs Harbour from a different perspective. The kids all said they had a really fun time better than they expected. This photo taken on my phone but plenty of opportunities to get shots like this on the trip.

Awesome day aboard Pacific Explorer with Lee and her crew. Left a little later than scheduled due to some late arrivals but didn't spoil our day. Quickly found Whales and followed for about an hour or so. Also joined by some dolphins 🐬 🐬🥰🥰 VERY enjoyable experience, THROUGHLY recommend 👌 👍 Thank you all for a wonderful day, Annette & Phil 🇬🇧

Everyone is a spectator on our boat. Our sole aim is to give passengers the very best whale watching experience possible.
Above all else, your safety and enjoyment is paramount to us and we will not compromise that to cruise when we believe weather or sea conditions are not favourable.

Cancellation Policy

Due to the limited number of passengers permitted on each cruise, all bookings and payments are non-refundable as any cancellation is likely to cause a loss to WWE.

If you cancel your booking prior to the cruise, there will be no refund.
If you fail to join a cruise, there will be no refund.
In the event that WWE cancels a cruise for whatever reason, passengers will be offered:
i. to transfer their booking to a future cruise within the same whale watching season, or
ii. a gift certificate for the current whale watching season and for the equivalent value of the cancelled booking, or
iii. a refund of the amount of the booking.
