Our daily sunrise flights over the Byron Bay region – Australia’s most easterly point – gives you the unique opportunity to be the first to watch the morning’s sunrise over the Australian mainland from the air.
Each of our Byron Bay region flights is unique and the location of your morning’s launch site will depend on the wind conditions of the day, so your flight could be taking in magnificent views of the ocean, the hinterland or the vast diversity of scenery around the famed counterculture meccas of Bangalow, Mullumbimby, Nimbin or Lismore.
Note: All children aged 7 years or older that meet the Fitness to Fly requirements are able to fly provided they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Pick up location will be central in Byron Bay, but varies with each flight. We will advise through SMS the night before.

a month agoAn absolutely unforgettable experience that I can wholeheartedly recommend to anyone. Ballooning isn't a scary experience at all and Hunter Valley is a spectacular location so if you're thinking of going, do it ASAP. The guys at Balloon Aloft are extremely professional in every aspect of the process and make the whole experience go smoothly. We were in the air for a full hour and the pilot explained what we were seeing and how the balloons are operated. After landing we all helped to pack up the balloon and then went for a beautiful champagne breakfast at Peterson House. Thank you Balloon Aloft for the amazing memories.

a month agoGreat morning out. Really worth the experience. Highly recommended but not for the faint hearted. Our flight time was 28 minutes, and we were offered another flight excluding the breakfast. We were very happy with the flight a couldn’t ask for a better experience. Our pilot, Byron made it most enjoyable. Heaps of Dad jokes and he knew what he was doing. I was kind of worried being at altitude with no engine or steering. Couldn’t getting heading and the landing strip was somewhere over there. There was, however nothing to worry about. We went from doing 30km per hour on decent to 2km per hour after a headwind kicked in and slowed us down.

4 weeks agoIt was an interesting hot air balloon ride experience with Balloon Aloft. The service was great, every crew members were amazing! Pilot was really cool and experienced. Together with the ride, you get breakfast and pictures too! Highly recommended to try out this activity at Hunter Valley with Balloon Aloft.

3 months agoGreat experience. Good view of vineyard. Do be mindful meeting time is at 4:45 AM, where you will meet at your breakfast location where they will allocate you and ask for your breakfast option, the a minibus will take you to your take-off place, they will prepare their hot air balloon there & you will take-off & fly for 45mins-1hour until landing. This will then be followed by helping each other fold the balloon and packing it away before heading to your breakfast. Good experience as you will see everything from start to finish.

a week agoThe experience was absolutely phenomenal, out pilot Sam and the rest of the crew were great and really friendly. We also got lucky and went up 4000 feet. Don't get me started on the meal that came with the balloon ride, the food was amazing. Would definitely recommend!
