A brilliant half-day abseiling adventure. We take you from 5-metres through to an overhanging 30-meter drop.
Our spectacular half-day abseiling tour is simply the best action-packed half-day adventure you can have in the Blue Mountains. The setting is the beautiful Blue Mountains National Park, making it both a scenic and exciting adventure!
Our full-day trips include all technical equipment (abseil gear, wetsuit, waterproof backpack, climbing shoes), lunch, and transport from our office. We also include a waterproof camera for the group.
We start with a smallish 5-meter abseil. If you have abseiled before this abseil gets you back in the swing of things. If you have never abseiled before it teaches you the technique of abseiling.
Your instructors are close at hand to encourage and explain the techniques.
From here we head straight on to 15-meter abseils which you can do a couple of times. Then with your instructor explaining each step, you progress through to our 30-meter adrenaline-pumping overhanging abseil.
Meeting Point:
At our office located inside the Blue Mountains YHA, 207 Katoomba Street, Katoomba 2780, only a 5-minute walk from Katoomba train station. Free all-day parking around the back of the hostel.
General Clothing to Wear:
Dress for the weather, wear running or hiking shoes and bring a water bottle and camera. For canyoning, bring running shoes that can get wet, a swimsuit and a waterproof camera. If you don’t have one we supply a waterproof camera free of charge. We also have helmets fitted with GoPro mounts.
Clothing to Wear for Winter Canyoning:
With winter canyoning you need to wear old running shoes (they may get wet and muddy). Thick socks, ideally wool if you have them. Leggings and shorts or quick-drying long pants and shorts. On top, you want to have at least 4 layers, singlet, t-shirt, fleece and a jacket of some description. Bring 1.5 liters of water. We will provide backpacks and all the technical equipment you require.
Age Limit:
We have had people from 6 to 86 participate in our adventures. Generally, we have a minimum age of 14 years for summer canyoning trips. If you have kids under this age, please contact us to see if the canyon would be suitable.
Weather-Dependant:
We still run abseiling, canyoning, and survival courses in light rain. We do need fine weather for rock climbing. Please note that when poor weather is forecast we still decide if the trip is running that morning. This is simply because the forecasts are often wrong.
Your voucher(s) and booking information will be included in the confirmation email you will receive shortly after purchasing the experience on Amazed.com.
If the booking needs to be first confirmed by the host, you will receive your Amazed voucher within 24-48 hours of purchase.

a month agoBucket list experience! So glad I took the day to do this adventure. Our guides were super polite and kept us safe while answering questions and sharing fun facts. They made sure we were all capable and having a great time. Highly recommend this if you've been thinking about it.

5 months agoFantastic people. Brian was an exceptional guide and a lot of fun to hang with. I was lucky when I booked the combined abseiling and canyoning in that no one else had booked the second half, and I ended up with a private experience. Not only that, we had the canyon to ourselves as well. Not to be missed if you’re in Katoomba!

4 months agoWe had an incredible experience canyoning and abseiling with high and wild. The guides made everyone feel safe and comfortable, and their knowledge about wildlife and fauna was incredible. It is a must do in the Blue Mountains! Empress falls and canyons were incredible. I will certainly be back for more!

5 months agoIt was one of the greatest challenges I had. I'm so glad that I could do it with you guys. I'm afraid of heights, so I pick up the abseiling as a personal challenge. Tim and Zoltan were legends! Super helpful and patient, I had an amazing time in the morning. At the afternoon with the Canyoning I felt so alive and glad that I could accomplish that and face my fear! The Abseiling at the waterfall is stunning! I felt in love with that canyon and with the Blue Mountains there! Really, thank you for everything!
