About

More than a tourist attraction, and more than a commercial farm, Tropical Fruit World is a labor of love, a fruit farm of inimitable value. Complete with a Biological Sustainable Horticulture philosophy, this family owned heritage business takes seriously their custodianship of the land as they seek to educate, share and unlock nature’s secrets with visitors, community and family alike. Since 1983, Tropical Fruit World (formerly Avocadoland) has trail blazed in linking fruit farming with tourism. Set amongst rainforest, water catchments and the rolling volcanic mineral soil from the caldera of Mount Warning, this working fruit farm is situated in the prime environment to grow over 500 fruits from right throughout the world. The Tropical Fruit World brand encompasses guided tours and tastings, a farm owned fruit market Plantation Markets, and a regional dining and event venue Plantation House, coupled with a unique collection of skincare and food products The Plantation Collection.

Visiting Tropical Fruit World with my daughter and wife was a great experience! This beautiful place is full of unusual fruits that were interesting to see and learn about. The people working there were very friendly and knew a lot about the different fruits. Our daughter loved the tours where she could try fruits. We also enjoyed riding the tractor and taking a small ferry, which added to the fun. It was a peaceful and fun day for our family. I really recommend it for families who want to learn and have fun outdoors. Definitely worth a visit!

We took a family of 13 - 3 adults and 10 kids (no, not all mine!) and they all really enjoyed it. The tour took 2 hours and best to wear sport shoes and buy some beautiful products on the tour when you receive 5% discount. The staff are all so lovely and knowledgeable- fun activities for the kids and the cafe has substantial and yummy food. The tour is a little bit pricey but can understand that there is a lot of upkeep to the incredibly large farm. Hope you all enjoy this one!!

Didn't expect much going in, but surprised me! Halfway through the tour, I was hooked. Huge variety of amazing plants. Tractor driver told us cool stuff about the trees and history. Kids loved the small farm with cuddly animals and feeding them. We relaxed on a boat ride and kids played on the playground. It was a great day learning about nature and having fun with the family. Even saw fruit trees that I haven't seen for some time. Really good for families and anyone who loves plants and animals.

What an incredible property with the most unique fruits. I went on the tasting tour. I felt like a kid in the Willy Wonka Factory … learning about a fruit that tastes like lemon tarts; or fruit that changes tastebuds from sour to sweet; or a fruit that tastes like chocolate when ripe!! Such a unique experience and highly recommend. Extra shout out to tour-guide Blaire 🙌 Also, the cafe had a nice covered patio. And “Bobs Bowl” was delicious!

My family and I visit almost every single holiday period. This place has never let us down. This particular trip was however one of the best. CHOCOLATE SAPOTE?! Where has that been my whole life??? And Mamey Sapote??? Honestly guys take my money. That ice cream on a coconut vegan base was truly magical. We forced my parents to get one and they were equally blown away. Please don’t stop making that, I’ll do my 2 hour trip every single time for it. Sadly though there weren’t any chocolate sapote fruit but I’m guessing it wasn’t in season but you guys have sparked up some kind of mission to try the actual fruit fresh. Okay now that the ice cream is out of the way let me talk about that pie. 10/10 no doubt. We were in shock it was truly the most delicious pie I’ve ever eaten. Again, I will be back to demolish another one. Only sad part was the kitchen had closed literally 1 minute ago and we weren’t allowed to order (fair enough but I was sad lol). Still such a great day and I really enjoyed everything. Dog friendly too which is lovely to see as I have a little shoodle who loves road trips.
