Beautiful inner reef tropical island 45 minute Ferry offshore form downtown Cairns Marlin Wharf. Left of Island Jetty - baby reef sharks swimming in the shallows. Just dump your stuff on the fossiled coral beach and start snorkelling. Bird Rock is for experienced swimmers only. Carefree relaxed vibe island. Boat drops you off with your snorkelling gear and eski (if u bring your own lunch) *tip bring a day pack with only essentials and leave it almost empty to fit your hired snorkelling gear in. 2 FIA crew will stay on the beach under a blue umbrella when the transfer boat leaves. Right of the Island Jetty - Foxys a la carte licensed restaurant, opened for lunch no bookings required. Have lunch and glass of Sav B overlooking the bay!! 20 minute bush walk, over tree roots & big rocks (right footwear important) to Nudey Beach (not a nudist beach!!!). There there is a beach swing and lots of space to make your own little area for swimming and suntanning fun.

It is exactly what it says - jump on the boat, head to the island, explore and go home. Pleasant team on the boat and pretty island. If it’s windy think about taking a travel calm, it was quite rocky for us and I needed to watch the horizon. Also take some swimming shoes, lots of coral and rough sand on the island. Overall we had a great day!

Absolutely stunning island. We cancelled our reef tour and came here twice as we researched it was the best place to see turtles whilst snorkelling. Loved that we could just get the ferry over and were able to do things at our own pace. The snorkelling was out of this world. Saw 4 turtles and so many different species of fish without swimming deep. The water was crystal clear, warm and the island itself is breath taking.

The snorkeling tour was an extra charge on-top of the 45 min ferry ride from Cairns. Oh was it worth it! A bucket list item is now checked off thanks in no small part to Becks. Our marine biologist, instructor and diving extraordinaire who lead us, a group of four, around the reef showcasing stunning coral and colorful marine life. Do not hesitate to make this unforgettable experience one of your own.

My wife and I saw Kiana who who was so very helpful with all the information and we ended up going to Fitzroy island all the ferry staff were professional and amazing with ideas and information eg presciption diving masks . And the place was amazing !!! And even got to see the turtles :) and fish and Goanna and lovely sounds of the coral as waves hit the beach just like wind chimes!!! Thanks guys you should all be so proud of your professionalism!!!!
