Be amazed by the history surrounding this great walk, the Aboriginal name for the mountain Didthol, meaning Big Mountain, culturally the mountain is a significant area. Later named by Captain Cook in 1770 as Pigeon House Hill for its shape, clearly seen from the ocean.
The Pigeon House hike is an extremely rewarding experience; the views from the summit to the west into magical wilderness regions of the Buddawangs show sandstone cliffs, gorges and escarpments. Views to the east show the amazing NSW coastline stretching as far as the eye can see.
National Parks and Wildlife service grade this track at Grade 4; it's rough, steep and a challenging hike. Region X does not recommend anyone with knee, ankle, heart or lung conditions to attempt the hike.
Inclusions โ Guides, Hotel pickups from Canberra (starting from 7 am), Hotel pickups from Batemans Bay (starting at 9 am), comfortable transport, morning tea, guided hike, lunch, return to Hotel.

2 years agoWonderful experience. The staff were very friendly and it was good that accommodated my dog onto the kayak. Very special to us as it was my pets first kayaking experience. Happy we did that. I would recommend to come early in the morning and will before 10am. Later the weather and current gets tough and it becomes difficult to manoeuvre. However that's not in our control.

2 weeks agoWent out with the guys on 21/4/24 to the Toll Gates, Batemans Bay. It was an awesome experience. Seen Dolphins, eagles catching fish and to top it off and the highlight of the day was the leatherback sea turtle swimming in and around the kayaks. Just brilliant. If you want a great day out and an experience you will never forget I suggest you go and see the guys at Region X Thanks again 😊

2 years agoPhenomenal experience with our guide Warwick kayaking and oyster tasting! Nola did our demo and talk about the history of oyster farming in the area and was just amazing to listen to. Very candid and insightful to hear first hand her and her family's experience living and working in Batemans bay. Our guide was so knowledgeable and patient with us especially for those who has no kayak experience! Stop in after the tour to the Oyster shed for the freshest Oysters with a beautiful view. Would 100% recommend! Thankyou guys!

a year agoIt has been a while since I last did kayaking and this tour (Glass Bottom Kayak Tour - Cullendulla Sanctuary) is a very good refresher with lots of fun! The tour guide is very outgoing and gave everyone very good instruction. I really appreciate how he also provided background to the Cullendulla Sanctuary and stressed the importance of environmental conservation and sustainability. The glassbottom tour was approximately 2.5hrs with decent duration of kayaking, rest and appreciation of the sanctuary. I truly enjoyed the experience and I highly recommend it! ( Also worth mentioning Region X staff are very friendly and helpful while deciding which tour to join. The communication is very clear, with helpful information about the tour, preparation, expectations and meeting point via email. Thank you Region X! )

4 months agoWe had a fantastic time! The demonstration and tips we were given were super helpful even for experienced kayakers and greatly benefited our enjoyment of the river. The team are all so lovely and full of local knowledge. We’ll definitely be back again.
