The core of our riding programs – the horse – is a unique character with the ability to unlock their riders’ hidden talents and abilities. Nothing can beat the physical, psychological and social benefits of spending time with a horse in the open air.
A Riding for the Disabled Centre can provide exciting opportunities and valuable experience in a wide range of areas.
You do not have to have experience with horses to assist at an RDA centre. Training and support are given to build your confidence and skills in supporting the riders and in working with horses. Many RDA volunteers go on to careers in the health, disability, education and equestrian sectors. Some choose to undertake additional studies to become nationally accredited RDAA Coaches.
