Hello! We are Melbourne Steam Traction Engine Club
About

The Melbourne Steam Traction Engine club was established over 50 years ago with the aim of preserving the last of the road steam vehicles. It quickly expanded its scope to include a wide range of vintage machinery.

It is hard to imagine a more wide ranging collection of vintage machinery than what is on display at the steam centre. The depth and engineering heritage significance of the exhibits has been recognised by Engineers Australia who have erected an Engineering Heritage Marker at the museum.
The engines on display at the steam centre represent many years of collection and restoration efforts by club members. In addition to the engines owned by the club, a number of members privately owned engines are kept at the centre
