The Maryborough Military and Colonial Museum is a non-profit heritage endowment created by John and Else Meyers to perpetuate the memory of their children, Geoff and Karen, who lost their lives in a road crash near Gympie on the 29th November 1982.
The Museum features two original Victoria Crosses which are on display. The 'Gallipoli Room', a major exhibit of the museum, commemorates the valour and human spirit and represents more soldiers awarded for gallantry at Gallipoli than any other museum within Australia.
