Named after the endangered southern cassowary which inhabits this region, the Cassowary Coast features tropical beaches and islands, world-heritage rainforest, the Great Barrier Reef, beautiful waterways, indigenous culture and art deco architecture.
There is a range of volunteering opportunities with the Council - at our two community nurseries, our visitor information centres and the Cardwell Bush Telegraph, or helping out at the varied events which visit our region!
