The tour departs from Melbourne around 10:00 am and offers panoramic views of the city and Port Phillip Bay as it crosses the Westgate Bridge, Australia's longest bridge.
The journey continues towards the Surf Coast, passing by Geelong, Victoria's second-largest city, and then making a brief stop at Anglesea to walk alongside the beautiful Anglesea River.
Next, the tour reaches Kennett River, where lunch is at your own expense. Here, you can stroll among eucalyptus trees to spot local koalas in their natural habitat. The area has a large koala population.
The tour then travels through the Otway Ranges to the Shipwreck Coast and Port Campbell National Park. The first stop is Loch Ard Gorge, known for the tragic shipwreck of the Loch Ard in 1878. Your guide will share the legend of the Loch Ard, and you can explore the area, including rock formations like the Razorback and Island Archway.
As the sun sets, the tour heads to the Twelve Apostles, majestic rock formations. You'll witness the landscape transform in the evening light.
The journey back includes a dinner stop in Colac, and you'll enjoy views of the illuminated city as you cross the Westgate Bridge before being dropped off at your inner city accommodation. It's a memorable highlight of an Australian holiday.
Note: Access to Loch Ard Gorge may be closed until Spring 2023 due to dangerous cliff movement near the Upper Lookout.
